Dark Matter from Lorentz Invariance and the LHC

چکیده
In extra dimensional models, a Dark Matter candidate can be present thanks to a Kaluza-Klein parity which makes the lightest resonances stable. However, compactifications considered sofar need the symmetry to be imposed by hand on the model: here we propose the unique orbifold in 6 dimensions where such parity arises naturally as part of the unbroken 6D Lorentz invariance. As an example we introduce a model of universal extra dimensions where all standard model fields propagate in the extra dimensions. The dark matter candidate is a scalar photon and its preferred mass range lies below 300 GeV. Due to the small splitting between states in the same Kaluza-Klein tier, discovery of the lightest tiers is challenging at the LHC.

A Dark Matter candidate from Lorentz Invariance in 6D
We study the unique 6 dimensional orbifold with chiral fermions where a stable dark matter candidate is present due to Lorentz invariance on the orbifold, with no additional discrete symmetries imposed by hand. We propose a model of Universal Extra Dimensions where a scalar photon of few hundred GeV is a good candidate for dark matter. The spectrum of the model is characteristic of the geometry...
متن کاملقیدهای تک Z روی مدل ماده تاریک فرمیونی با واسطه شبه اسکالر در LHC
In this research we study the Mono-Z signature along with dark matter production at the LHC in a renormalizable dark matter model. We look at processes with L+L-+MET in the final state. We simulate signal and background events at central mass energy 14 TeV We then evaluate the LHC sensitivities for some points in the model parameter space for two integrated luminosities L=100 fb-1 and L=1 ab-1 ...
متن کاملDark Matter, Quantum Gravity, Vacuum Energy, and Lorentz Invariance
In earlier work , we introduced a theory which implies violation of Lorentz invariance for (i) fermions at extremely high energy and (ii) fundamental scalar bosons which have not yet been observed. On the other hand, the theory appears to be in agreement with even the most sensitive experimental and observational tests of Lorentz invariance that are currently available, since many features of t...
متن کاملPhoton and photino as Nambu–Goldstone zero modes in an emergent SUSY QED
We argue that supersymmetry with its wellknown advantages, such as naturalness, grand unification, and dark matter candidate seems to possess one more attractive feature: it may trigger, through its own spontaneous violation in the visible sector, a dynamical generation of gauge fields as massless Nambu–Goldstone modes during which physical Lorentz invariance itself is ultimately preserved. We ...
متن کاملThe Higgs of the Higgs and the diphoton channel
LHC results do not confirm conventional natural solutions to the Higgs mass hierarchy problem, motivating alternative interpretations where a hierarchically small weak scale is generated from a dimension-less quantum dynamics. We propose weakly and stronglycoupled models where the field that breaks classical scale invariance giving mass to itself and to the Higgs is identified with a possible n...
