چکیده

Neer type II distal clavicle fractures are inherently unstable. The purpose of this study was to review the outcome of Neer type II distal clavicle fractures arthroscopically treated using a suspensory cortical button technique. Between 2008 and 2012, a total of 17 Neer type IIB fractures were managed operatively at the authors' institution. Functional outcomes were assessed using the pain score, the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score, the Penn Shoulder Score, and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score. Radiographic union was also assessed. At a mean of 1 year, the mean pain score was 0.9±1.1, the mean Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score was 10.9±11.1, the mean Penn Shoulder Score was 90.3±7.9, and the mean American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score was 90.1±10.1. Radiographic union occurred in 14 patients. An all-arthroscopic surgical fixation of Neer type II distal clavicle fractures using a suspensory cortical button technique can result in a predictable outcome with a low complication rate. A technique of distal clavicle fracture fixation using the tightrope procedure.

ABSTRACT We present here a technique of fracture stabilization using the Tightrope procedure in a patient with a widely displaced Neer type IIB distal clavicle fracture. The Tightrope system, typically used for stabilization of acromioclavicular joint dislocation, has not been widely described for distal clavicle fractures. The patient achieved satisfactory results after surgery; we feel that t...

Close treatment of acute unstable distal clavicle fractures with coracoclavicular fixation by the TightRope® system via two minimal incisions

Distal clavicular unstable fractures (Neer type IIb) with disruption of the coracoclavicular ligament can result in delayed union or non-union such that surgical intervention is required. Various surgical methods have been introduced, but no gold standard has been established. This paper introduces a mini-open technique for the treatment of distal clavicle fractures (Neer type IIb) associated w...

Arthroscopic-Assisted Management of Unstable Distal-Third Clavicle Fractures: Conoid Ligament Reconstruction and Fracture Cerclage With Sutures.

Surgical treatment is usually indicated for the management of Neer type IIB fractures of the distal third of the clavicle. These unstable injuries have shown a rate of nonunion that oscillates around 30% to 45% when managed conservatively, and surgical strategies often require a second operation for implant removal. We describe an arthroscopic-assisted technique for the treatment of Neer type I...

Concomitant glenohumeral injuries in Neer type II distal clavicle fractures

BACKGROUND To identify the prevalence of concomitant glenohumeral injuries in surgically treated Neer type II distal clavicle fractures and relate its clinical importance. METHODS Between 11/2011 and 11/2015 41 patients, suffering from a displaced and unstable distal clavicle fracture were included. 20 patients (group 1) received surgical treatment by means of plate osteosynthesis in combinat...

Open reduction and internal fixation of a distal clavicle fracture using a clavicle hook plate

Historically, fractures of the clavicle have been treated nonoperatively. However, it is becoming much more common for orthopedic surgeons to treat clavicle fractures with open reduction and internal fixation-particularly fractures of the lateral clavicle with high rates of nonunion, such as the Neer type II. Several techniques and devices are currently being used for clavicle fixation. We pres...
