Sar Interferometry: Principles, Processing, and Perspectives
نویسنده
چکیده
The principles of SAR interferometry and interferogram generation, in particular phase unwrapping and geocoding, are described. Current issues of SAR interferometry are discussed: atmospheric effects on spaceborne repeat-pass interferometry limiting the accuracy and reliability of Digital Elevation Models (DEM), the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) resulting in a globally homogeneous DEM, differential interferometry monitoring surface displacements in the mm to cm range with spaceborne sensors, ScanSAR interferometry allowing continuous monitoring of regions threatened by natural hazards, and polarimetric interferometry determining vegetation parameters such as height, and generating more accurate DEM than standard interferometry.

Development and Applications of an Interferometric Ground-Based SAR System
An Interferometric Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (In-GB-SAR) system has been developed. The system employs similar principles as the airborne or space borne SAR. In the developed In-GB-SAR system, the technique of differential interferometry is used to detect small changes on the target at different times and under different conditions. Experimental results demonstrate that the develope...

The principles of SAR interferometry, in particular phase unwrapping and geocoding, are described. Interferometric point positioning is treated based on a least squares approach avoiding approximations. Current issues of SAR interferometry are discussed: atmospheric effects on spaceborne repeat-pass interferometry limiting the accuracy and reliability of Digital Elevation Models (DEM), the Shut...

Spotlight SAR interferometry is an attractive option for high resolution mapping and monitoring. In this paper, the signal spectral characteristics and the interfeometric properties of spaceborne spotlight SAR are analyzed completely, and the effect of the azimuthvariant Doppler to spotlight SAR interferometry is studied. Moreover, a new coregistration algorithm, which contains coarse coregistr...
متن کاملComparison of Local and Non-Local Methods in Covariance Matrix Estimation by Using Multi-baseline SAR Interferometry and Height Extraction for Principal Components with Maximum Likelihood Approach
By today, the technology of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) has been largely exploited in digital elevation model (DEM) generation and deformation mapping. Conventional InSAR technique exploits two SAR images acquired from slightly different angles, in which the information of elevation and deformation can be captured through processing of the phase difference of the image...
