Ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides: a neoplastic acquired ichthyosis.

چکیده
Sir, Acquired ichthyoses can either reflect an underlying severe disorder or may be an atypical expression of skin diseases such as cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (1). Otherwise, lymphomatous infiltrates in the skin can cause heterogeneous cutaneous symptoms and lesions, which may range from invisible features to massive tumour nodules. Mycosis fungoides is an epidermotropic cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, which accounts for almost 50% of all primary cutaneous lymphomas. Subtypes and variants may complete its wide clinicopathological spectrum (2). Ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides is a rare variant of mycosis fungoides observed in 1.8% of cases (3–5). We describe here a case of ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides in a 30-year-old man who presented a wide spread ichthyosiform appearance coexisting with limited conventional papular lesions.

Ichthyosiform Parapsoriasis: report of a case
Acquired ichthyosis is a known paraneoplastic sign of lymphoproliferative malignancies with nonspecific histopathologic findings revealing no implication of the underlying neoplasm. However, ichthyosiform eruption is considered as a specific manifestation of mycosis fungoides (MF), i.e., ichthyosiform MF. There are a few reports of ichthyotic manifestation of MF, but only one report of t...

Ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides (MF) is a rare variant of MF, occurring in 3.5% of MF patients according to one study (1, 2). Patients with ichthyosiform MF exhibit clinical manifestations similar to those of acquired ichthyosis; histologically, however, they show epidermotropism of atypical lymphocytes. Ichthyosiform MF is characterized by indolent course and usually good response to photother...
متن کاملMycosis fungoides as an ichthyosiform eruption.
Ichthyosiform eruption as a specific manifestation of mycosis fungoides is very rare and only a few such cases have currently been reported in the medical literature. A 63-year-old Korean man presented with a 4-year history of a pruritic ichthyotic eruption. There was no personal or family history of ichthyosis or atopy. The ichthyosiform skin changes involved the abdomen, arms, thighs and shin...

Acquired ichthyosis (AI) is a reactive cutaneous manifestation that can be associated with malignant hematological disease, including cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). Since it is difficult to distinguish AI from ichthyosiform mycosis fungoides, to select the treatment for CTCL with ichthyosis-like appearance and to evaluate its efficacy is sometimes challenging. In this report, we describe a c...
متن کاملAlopecia in Lymphomas
Abnormal hair development and regeneration occurs in some skin diseases, including lymphomas when hair follicles are eliminated. Otherwise, neoplastic cells, both malignant and benign, local occurring and metastatic, can cause alopecia of the scalp. In lymphomas alopecia can develop due to direct infiltration by the disease, or it may be a secondary or paraneoplastic manifestation. Total -body ...
