چکیده

An analytical model is developed for examining the vibro-acoustic properties of a fluid-loaded plate reinforced by periodic ribs of finite width. This model is used to understand the frequency filtering properties of the flexural wave and the structural-borne sound wave of the ribbed plate under different fluid loading conditions. The relationships between the flexural waves and the related sound radiation in their pass-bands due to the filtering effect of the periodic ribs are specifically investigated. The dispersion relations of structural and radiated waves of the plate due to the periodic configuration of the ribs are used to explain the changes in the vibration and sound radiation response.

Noise radiation from doubly periodic reinforced submerged plates

Almost all known structures are designed for low weight and high strength. For metal structures, especially aircrafts and underwater vehicles, this means reinforcement in the form of ribs. This paper presents an analytic model for the prediction of the acoustic scattered field from such rib-reinforced structures. The geometry is assumed to be that of an infinite elastic plate reinforced with a ...

Vibro-acoustic analysis of lightweight composite panels with damping materials

In this paper a numerical model to study the vibro-acoustic behavior of a laminated plate backed by a poroelastic foam layer is developed. Such approach consists on a coupled mitigation strategy aiming either mechanical vibration suppression or acoustic attenuation as well. The laminated plate model consists of fiber laminae with interleaved viscoelastic layers in standard constrained or integr...

Complex Wave-number Dispersion Analysis of Stabilized Finite Element Methods for Acoustic Fluid – Structure Interaction

The application of finite element methods to problems in structural acoustics ( the vibration of an elastic body coupled to an acoustic fluid medium) is considered. New stabilized methods based on the Hellinger-Reissner variational principle with a generalized least-squares modification are developed which yield improvement in accuracy over the standard Galerkin finite element method for both i...

Compact and Efficient Active Vibro-acoustic Control of a Smart Plate Structure

An effective wide band active control law through one kind of the Dynamic Vibration Absorber (DVA) is proposed and studied in this paper. With the help of mechanical impedance method, active DVA control law is formulated based on the passive mechanical model. The electrical DVA can generate multi-mode active damping to the structure. The host structure is an aluminum plate and acceleration sign...

Elastic response of an acoustic coating on a rib-stiffened plate

This paper develops a three-dimensional analytical model of a fluid-loaded acoustic coating affixed to a rib-stiffened plate. The system is loaded by a plane wave that is harmonic both spatially and temporally. The model begins with Navier–Cauchy equations of motion for an elastic solid, which produces displacement fields that have unknown wave propagation coefficients. These are inserted into ...
