Bandwidth allocation and scheduling of networked control systems with exponential and quadratic approximations

چکیده
This paper investigates bandwidth allocation and scheduling of networked control systems (NCSs) with nonlinear-programming techniques. The bandwidth utilization (BU) is defined in terms of sampling frequency. An exponential and a quadratic approximation are formulated to describe system performance versus the sampling frequencies. The optimal sampling frequencies are obtained by solving the approximations with Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) conditions. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed approximations and scheduling algorithms. The two approximations could find an optimal BU of an NCS with a given sequence of plants and maximize the total BU up to 98% of the total available bandwidth. & 2014 Elsevier Ltd. Stability and H∞ Performance Preserving Scheduling Policy for Networked Control Systems
In this paper, the exponential stability and the L2 induced gain performance are investigated for a collection of plants whose feedback control loops are closed via a shared network link. Due to a limited communication capacity, the network link can only close one feedback control loop at a time, while the other control loops are assumed to be open-loop. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully ...
متن کاملOptimal Bandwidth Allocation and QoS-adaptive Control Co-design for Networked Control Systems
In this paper, we present a co-design methodology of dynamic optimal networkbandwidth allocation (ONBA) and adaptive control for networked control systems (NCSs) to optimize overall control performance and reduce total network-bandwidth usage. The proposed dynamic co-design strategy integrates adaptive feedback control with real-time scheduling. As part of this co-design methodology, a “closed-...
متن کاملModelling and Compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with plant uncertainty using an Improved RMPC Method
Control systems with digital communication between sensors, controllers and actuators are called as Networked Control Systems (NCSs). In general, NCSs encounter with some problems such as packet dropouts and network induced delays. When plant uncertainty is added to the aforementioned problems, the design of the robust controller that is able to guarantee the stability, becomes more complex. In...

This paper addresses control design in networked control system by considering stochastic packet dropouts in the forward path of the control loop. The packet dropouts are modelled by mutually independent stochastic variables satisfying Bernoulli binary distribution. A sliding mode controller is utilized to overcome the adverse influences of stochastic packet dropouts in networked control system...
متن کاملTime Delay and Data Dropout Compensation in Networked Control Systems Using Extended Kalman Filter
In networked control systems, time delay and data dropout can degrade the performance of the control system and even destabilize the system. In the present paper, the Extended Kalman filter is employed to compensate the effects of time delay and data dropout in feedforward and feedback paths of networked control systems. In the proposed method, the extended Kalman filter is used as an observer ...
