چکیده

An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme is expected as an efficient technique for next generation wireless communications. However, high Peak to Average Power Ration (PAPR) of OFDM system is the main drawback which degrades the transmitter power efficiency causes poor performance of the system. To reduce PAPR of OFDM signal, several works on clipping technique have been proposed. This paper is incorporated the improvement of the PAPR and Bit Error Rate (BER) performance using clipping method. It has been shown from the result that by employing the recursive clipping and filtering, 11.45 dB of PAPR of original OFDM signal is reduced down to 4.77 dB. Hence, BER is also increased significantly. This research is carried out through MATLAB simulation and gradually measured the effect of PAPR on BER under AWGN channel for 16QAM scheme with 256 points OFDM. Moreover, it is studied the effect of OFDM signal while passing through High Power Amplifier (HPA). Finally, the PAPR reduction technique such as recursive clipping and filtering (RCF) is implemented. Key-Words: AWGN, HPA, OFDM, PAPR, QAM, Recursive Clopping and Filtering (RCF)

Clipping Technique for BER and PAPR Reduction in OFDM System

Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is one of most detrimental aspects in any wireless communication system using multicarrier modulation technique like OFDM, which cause power degradation and spectral spreading. Due to the simplest way for PAPR reduction, clipping technique has been proposed and seems to be promising for use in commercial system. In this paper, we mainly focus on Amplitude clip...

An Efficient Scheme for PAPR Reduction of OFDM based on Selected Mapping without Side Information

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become a promising method for many wireless communication applications. However, one main drawback of OFDM systems is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Selected mapping (SLM) is a well-known technique to decrease the problem of high PAPR in OFDM systems. In this method, transmitter is obliged to send some bits named side informati...

PAPR Reduction in OFDM using Clipping and Filtering

Abstract: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an emerging field of research in the field of wireless communication and finds its application where high data rate is required at low latency and better spectral efficiency. Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is the limiting factor for an OFDM system as it degrades the system performance by reducing SQNR of ADC/DAC as well as affec...

Hardware Implementation of PAPR Reduction with Clipping and Filtering Technique for Mobile Applications

Abstract-Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is preferred for mobile communications applications due to its increased data transmission capability. At one hand, it has advantages of being robust to multipath fading and possessing high data rate transmission capability, on the other hand it suffers from high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper FPGA implementation of c...

An OFDM system is combined with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) in order to increase the diversity gain and system capacity over the time variant frequency-selective channels. However, a major drawback of MIMO-OFDM system is that the transmitted signals on different antennas might exhibit high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR).In this paper, we present a PAPR analysis reduction of space-...
