چکیده

This paper presents the results of simulating position estimation from a camera-based system integrated in a hand-held mine detector. The system reports positions of the sensor head relative to a bar placed on the ground by the deminer to indicate the safe limit. Monitoring the position during sensor scanning enables image reconstruction of the captured signals. Image representation allows object shape analysis and easy target localization. The simulation has considered several configurations including one or two cameras, one or no accelerometer and a 1 or 2-dimensional reference lattice on the bar. The required accuracy of the positioning system in our application is +/0.5 cm in each direction.

Review of Motion Estimation and Video Stabilization techniques For hand held mobile video

Video stabilization is a video processing technique to enhance the quality of input video by removing the undesired camera motions. There are various approaches used for stabilizing the captured videos. Most of the existing methods are either very complex or does not perform well for slow and smooth motion of hand held mobile videos. Hence it is desired to synthesis a new stabilized video seque...

Lessons learned from the Deployment of Dual sensor ALIS for Humanitarian Demining in Cambodia

ALIS is a hand-held dual sensor developed by Tohoku University, Japan since 2002. Dual sensor is a general name of sensor for humanitarian demining, which are equipped with metal detector and GPR. ALIS is only one hand-held dual sensor, which can record the sensor position with sensor signals. Therefore, the data can be processed after data acquisition, and can increase the imaging capability. ...

Efficient Video Stabilization Technique for Hand Held Mobile Videos

Majority of the videos that have been captured by mobile cameras are suffering from low quality due to either low end manufacturing designs or complicated operating environments and untrained users. Thus videos taken by hand held mobile cameras tend to suffer from different undesired slow motions that cause annoying shaky motion and jitter. It is desirable to stabilize the video sequence by rem...
