3t Body Mri
نویسنده
چکیده
The inherent doubling in signal-to-noise ratio when compared to 1.5T provides unique opportunities for body MR imaging at 3T. The augmented SNR can be used to improve anatomic and/or temporal resolution and reduce breath hold time periods while preserving image quality. However, susceptibility, and chemical shift dispersion are also increased at 3.0T (scaling with field strength) and T1 and T2 are increased. These features impose challenges for certain aspects of body imaging. Our preliminary experience with body imaging at 3.0T shows excellent results for fMRI spectroscopy sensitivity, and MRA conspicuity. The development of a whole body transmit/receive RF coil, (1) is the fundamental achievement enabling whole body aiming at 3.0T. This has allowed for the evaluation beyond a clinical head-only scanner (2) into a clinical wholebody scanner.

Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI in the liver at 3T with dual-input pharmacokinetic model analysis
Introduction DCE-MRI has been widely used at 1.5T in a variety of organs and tissues. The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of DCE-MRI in the liver at 3T, taking into account the challenges of 3T systems, and performed in such a way as to allow a dual-input pharmacokinetic analysis, separating the perfusion contributions from the hepatic artery and portal vein. To our knowledge, t...
متن کاملUpdate on liver MRI at 3T
3T MRI of the liver has become widely available and is routinely utilized in the clinical setting, but published scientific data comparing 1.5T with 3T is limited. Theoretically, higher field strength is desirable in body imaging owing to an increase in signal-to-noise ratio, greater spectral separation, the potential for faster scan times and improved tissue contrast on dynamic contrast-enhanc...
متن کاملCoronary endothelial function using 3T MRI is inversely related to body mass index
Background Although obesity is a known risk factor for future cardiovascular events [1], its relationship to coronary endothelial function, which is impaired in early atherosclerosis, is not completely understood. By means of previously described non-invasive 3T MRI methods combined with isometric handgrip to assess endothelialdependent coronary vasoreactivity [2], we sought to test the hypothe...
متن کاملLesions of the Talus Diagnostic Accuracy of 3.0 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging for the Detection of Articular Cartilage
Background: Talar chondral defects can be a source of persistent ankle pain and disability. If untreated, there is an increased risk of osteoarthritis. The purpose of our study was to determine diagnostic accuracy of 3T MRI in detecting Outerbridge grades 3 and 4 articular cartilage lesions of the talus in a clinical setting, utilizing a standardized clinical MRI protocol. Methods: Patients who...

J. SZKLARUK, P. R. BHOSALE, A. Balachandran, C. S. NG, E. P. TAMM, J. Ma DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY, MD ANDERSON, HOUSTON, TX, United States Introduction MRI of the liver is routinely used in the staging and follow-up of oncologic patients. The current clinical practice is to use a 1.5T magnet. 3.0T MRI scanners offer superior signal to noise ratio (SNR) over the conventional 1.5T. There are limited ...
متن کاملFeasibility of imaging superficial palmar arch using micro-ultrasound, 7T and 3T magnetic resonance imaging
AIM To demonstrate feasibility of vessel wall imaging of the superficial palmar arch using high frequency micro-ultrasound, 7T and 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). METHODS Four subjects (ages 22-50 years) were scanned on a micro-ultrasound system with a 45-MHz transducer (Vevo 2100, VisualSonics). Subjects' hands were then imaged on a 3T clinical MR scanner (Siemens Biograph MMR) using an...
