Short cation−cation distances in zeolites − the case of K−LSX

چکیده
Zeolites with the faujasite structure (FAU) are extensively used as catalysts and in gas separation. A detailed knowledge of their structure, particularly the positions of extra−framework cations in the case of gas adsorption, is therefore central to understanding their performance. Typically zeolites X (Si/Al ~.1.1−1.5) and Y (Si/Al ~5−11) are used. A common assertion of structural determinations is that the two partially occupied cation sites labelled SI and SI’ (Figure 1) are not occupied simultaneously.

NMR studies of the structure and basic properties of zeolites
DOR and MQMAS NMR techniques were applied in the high field of 17.6 T to the study of several oxygen-17 enriched zeolites with the ratio Si/Al = 1. The tendency that the isotropic chemical shift of the O NMR decreases with increasing bond angle (or s-character of the oxygen hybrid orbital) was confirmed by this study. A quite linear correlation exists for the oxygen sites in the zeolites A and ...
متن کاملSite-Hopping Dynamics of Benzene Adsorbed on Ca-LSX Zeolite Studied by Solid-State Exchange 13C NMR
First-time applications of solid-state exchange 13C NMR techniques to the study of the reorientation dynamics of hydrocarbon molecules adsorbed on zeolites have enabled the geometry and time scales of molecular hopping processes between adjacent adsorption sites to be characterized directly and model free. Two-dimensional exchange 13C NMR on static samples establishes the geometry of the site-h...

The complexation of Alkali metal cations by the water-soluble p-sulfonic acid calix(4)arenewas thermodynamically characterized using spectrophotometeric data which are consistentwith the formation of a 1:1 complex resulting from electrostatic interactions between thesulfonato groups and alkali metal cations. In this study, we determined the formationconstants (log K) of the complexes and have c...
متن کاملComparison of artificial neural network and multivariate regression methods in prediction of soil cation exchange capacity (Case study: Ziaran region)
Investigation of soil properties like Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) plays important roles in study of environmental reaserches as the spatial and temporal variability of this property have been led to development of indirect methods in estimation of this soil characteristic. Pedotransfer functions (PTFs) provide an alternative by estimating soil parameters from more readily available soil data...

Zeolite encapsulated Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes with 2-methyl benzimidazole (Mebzlh) have been used to catalyze the reaction of styrene oxide with acetone under reflux condition. The yield of the isolated product using various catalysts range from good to excellent and the efficiency of the recycled catalyst was excellent.
