MicroRNA's role as biomarkers of lupus nephritis in children
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction There is a dire need of non-invasive biomarkers of lupus nephritis (LN) activity. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous, non-coding, single-stranded RNAs involved in the regulation of host genome expression at the post-transcriptional level. Previous miRNA expression profiling studies have generated some unique miRNA signatures (including miR-125a, miR-127, miR-146a,miR-150,miR-155) that are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but their role as biomarkers of LN has not been well examined.

The prognosis of lupus nephritis in children
Introduction: Lupus nephritis is a systemic disease which affects different organs. The present study was designed to review lupus nephritis, in children its outcome and the related factors. Methods: We reviewed 48 children with lupus nephritis. Clinical and epidemiological features were studied. The patients’ outcomes and related factors were analyzed. Patient and renal survival rate were ca...
متن کاملMetabolomics approach reveals urine biomarkers and pathways associated with the pathogenesis of lupus nephritis
Objective(s): lupus nephritis (LN) is a severe form of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with renal complications. Current diagnosis is based on invasive renal biopsy and serum antibodies and complement levels that are not specific enough. The current study aims to identify new biomarker candidates for non-invasive diagnosis of LN and explore the pathogenic mechanisms...
متن کاملRelationship of cell-free urine MicroRNA with lupus nephritis in children
BACKGROUND MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of genes. The objective of this study was to investigate whether select urinary cell-free microRNA's may serve as biomarkers in children with active lupus nephritis (LN) and to assess their relationship to the recently identified combinatorial urine biomarkers, a.k.a. the LN-Panel (neutrophil gelatinase associated...

Background: Despite several years of intensive investigation, relatively few studies have been made of children with lupus nephritis. The prognosis of children with lupus nephritis is poor for those with diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis and active interstitial inflammation. As newer treatment modalities become available for patients with severe lupus nephritis, it become increasingly im...
متن کاملEvaluation of Possible Role of Dendritic Cells in Various Lupus Nephritis
Background & Objectives: Chronicity of lupus nephritis (LN) should be considered for interaction of cell mediated immunity (CMI) and dendritic cells in glomeruli and tubulointerstitial areas. In this study establishment of immunohistopathological changes of dendritic cells and other immune effector cells in lupus nephritis comparing with non-lupus nephritis was performed. Materials & Methods: ...
