Lipase polystyrene giant amphiphiles.

چکیده
A new type of giant amphiphilic molecule has been synthesized by covalently connecting a lipase enzyme headgroup to a maleimide-functionalized polystyrene tail (40 repeat units). The resulting biohybrid forms catalytic micellar rods in water.

Aggregation behavior of giant amphiphiles prepared by cofactor reconstitution.
We report on biohybrid surfactants, termed "giant amphiphiles", in which a protein or an enzyme acts as the polar head group and a synthetic polymer as the apolar tail. It is demonstrated that the modification of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and myoglobin (Mb) with an apolar polymer chain through the cofactor reconstitution method yields giant amphiphiles that form spherical aggregates (vesicle...
متن کاملConstruction of giant branched nanotubes from cyclodextrin-based supramolecular amphiphiles.
Giant branched nanotubes were successfully constructed using cyclodextrin-based amphiphiles. The 'backbone' of the nanotubes could branch out into two or multiple branches, from which thinner branches grow out.
متن کاملPreparation of biohybrid amphiphiles via the copper catalysed Huisgen [3 + 2] dipolar cycloaddition reaction.
Biohybrid amphiphiles have been prepared from terminal azide functionalised polystyrene and an alkyne functionalised peptide or protein via a Cu(I) catalysed Huisgen [3 + 2] dipolar cycloaddition reaction.
متن کاملImmobilization of Candida antarctica lipase B on Polystyrene Nanoparticles.
Polystyrene (PS) nanoparticles were prepared via a nanoprecipitation process. The influence of the pH of the buffer solution used during the immobilization process on the loading of Candida antarctica lipase B (Cal-B) and on the hydrolytic activity (hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate) of the immobilized Cal-B was studied. The pH of the buffer solution has no influence on enzyme loading, while ...
متن کاملAmphiphilic dynamic NDI and PDI probes: imaging microdomains in giant unilamellar vesicles.
Dynamic amphiphiles provide access to transmembrane ion transport, differential sensing and cellular uptake. In this report, we introduce dynamic amphiphiles with fluorescent tails. Core-substituted naphthalenediimides (cNDIs) and perylenediimides (cPDIs) are tested. Whereas the latter suffer from poor partitioning, dynamic cNDI amphiphiles are found to be purifiable by RP-HPLC, to partition se...
