چکیده
We present results and first epoch parsec-scale images from a monitoring program on five γ–ray loud blazars selected on the basis of their total flux density variability. We observed 0048−097, 0235+164, 0954+658, 1510−089 and 1749+096 with the Very Long Baseline Array simultaneously at 8.4 GHz and 22 GHz. Comparison between our high quality images and previous results from the literature suggest that 0954+658 and 1510−089 are superluminal radio sources, with a Lorentz factor γ of the order of ∼ 2 − 3.

Directional clustering can be expected in cosmic ray observations due to purely statistical fluctuations for sources distributed randomly in the sky. We develop an analytic approach to estimate the probability of random cluster configurations, and use these results to study the strong potential of the HiRes, Auger, Telescope Array and EUSO/OWL/AirWatch facilities for deciding whether any observ...

Broad band spectra of total and compact–scale radio emission from blazars, used in combination with kinematic information inferred from VLBI monitoring programs, can be applied successfully to better constrain the models of compact jets. We discuss here a " hands-on " approach for tying together the kinematic and spectral properties of radio emission from blazars.
