Esthetic Root Coverage with Double Papillary Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft: A Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Patients today have become excessively concerned about esthetics. These esthetic concerns of patients have become an integral part of periodontal practice. Gingival recession is an esthetic problem that can be successfully treated by means of several mucogingival surgical approaches, any of which can be used, provided that the biologic conditions for accomplishing root coverage are satisfied with no loss of soft and hard tissue height interdentally. There are currently different techniques for root coverage which include pedicle grafts, free gingival grafts, connective tissue grafts, and guided tissue regeneration (GTR). This paper reports a case in which a new double papillary connective tissue graft technique has been used in the treatment of gingival recession.

Background and Aim: Several surgical approaches have been used to achieve root coverage. The Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft (SCTG) procedure has been shown to be a predictable means to treat gingival recession. Semilunar Coronally Positioned Flap (SCPF) is a simple mucogingival surgery to cover the exposed root surface without harvesting the palatal connective tissue. The purpose of this...

Mucogingival surgery involving gingival reconstruction has become an integral part of current periodontal practice. Gingival recession, either localized or generalized, may beassociated with one or more surfaces, resulting in attachment loss and root exposure, which can lead to clinical and fuctional problems such as poor esthetic, poor plaque control and root hypersensitivity etc. Miller’s Cla...
متن کاملCoverage of gingival recession using pouch connective tissue graft technique
Cosmetic procedures have become an integral part of periodontal treatment. One of the commonly used esthetic periodontal procedures is coverage of denuded roots. The recession of gingiva is increasingly becoming a more prominent condition in the oral health of many patients and should be treated at its earliest detection. The multi-factorial etiology, decision modality, and current trends follo...
متن کاملMultiple Marginal Tissue Recession Treated with a Simplified Lateral Sliding Flap Technique
Marginal tissue recession is a common esthetic problem that is usually accompanied by dentin sensitivity, and patients frequently report a fear of dental loss. Lateral sliding flaps have been used for localized recession, but they are rarely used for multiple recessions. The aim of this paper was to report a case of coverage of multiple marginal tissue recessions by means of a lateral sliding f...
