A Geocast scheme based on Successful Transmission Records on Wireless Ad Hoc Networks

چکیده
In this paper we propose an efficient geocasting scheme based on flooding for cases where a source node sends request messages to nodes in the destination area and receives replies from some of them, Geocasting based on Successful Transmission Records (GSTR). Generally geocast protocols based on flooding generate many redundant messages which generate transmission errors. In GSTR, each node records whether it has forwarded a reply message for a query message that the node forwarded to the destination region. Using these records, each node decides the delay before rebroadcast of geocasting a message to avoid forwarding of redundant query messages and forward the message along a suitable path by priority. Simulation results showed that the proposed scheme reduces collisions and response time to queries, and achieves high success ratio.

A Geocast scheme based on Successful Transmission Records with reachability to destination area on Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
We have proposed an improved flooding based geocast scheme, Geocast Scheme based on Successful Transmission Record (GSTR) for environments where reply messages to a query message sent by geocast are sent back to the sender of the query. In GSTR, transmission timing of broadcast of query packets is controlled using records of that the node has forwarded reply messages to query messages which hav...
متن کاملA Hidden Node Aware Network Allocation Vector Management System for Multi-hop Wireless Ad hoc Networks
Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...
متن کاملEvaluation of a BIBD Based Directional MAC Protocol for Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
The use of directional antennas in wireless ad hoc networks can significantly improve global performance due to a high spatial channel reuse. Nevertheless, its introduction poses new location dependent problems related to the MAC protocol. In this paper, the Balanced Incomplete Block Design theory has been exploited to develop a new MAC protocol for wireless ad hoc networks using directional ant...
متن کاملBroadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach
While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...
متن کاملA New Intrusion Detection System to deal with Black Hole Attacks in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
By extending wireless networks and because of their different nature, some attacks appear in these networks which did not exist in wired networks. Security is a serious challenge for actual implementation in wireless networks. Due to lack of the fixed infrastructure and also because of security holes in routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks, these networks are not protected against attack...
