چکیده
A 64-year-old woman was referred to the Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital for evaluation of a mass adjoining the left cardiac border, identified on a chest roentgenogram (Figure 1, A). She had no history of Kawasaki’s disease, chest trauma, or pulmonary problems, except a recent cough with whitish sputum. A grade 2 continuous murmur could be heard at the left upper sternal border. Enhanced computed tomography scans of the chest demonstrated

A Rare Case of Giant Coronary Aneurysm in a 5- Year- Old Child
Coronary aneurysms are typically seen in association with Kawasaki disease and only in rare instances, they are reported to be congenital or idiopathic. Here we report a case of a five year old boy who was found to have an idiopathic right coronary artery aneurysm. He presented with complaints of recurrent respiratory tract infections. His examination and investigations did not reveal any of th...
متن کاملPrenatal diagnosis of an isolated coronary arterial fistula.
Congenital coronary artery fistulas (CAF) are rare malformations which can be complicated by hemodynamically relevant intracardiac shunts, endocarditis, myocardial infarction, thromboemboly or coronary aneurysms and rupture. The incidence of isolated coronary fistula is 1:50000 live birth (Schumacher G et al. Thorac Cardiovas Surg 1997; 45: 287–294). The left, right or both coronary arteries ma...
متن کاملAccidental finding of a giant right coronary artery aneurysm associated with a fistula to the right atrium.
Coronary artery fistulae are uncommon but may be haemodynamically significant, being an incidental finding in 0.1-0.2% of coronary angiograms. Even rarer is the association between fistulae and non-atherosclerotic coronary artery aneurysms. They most frequently originate in the right coronary artery, and the right cardiac chambers are the most common draining chambers. Most children are asympto...

متن کاملTranscatheter Coil Embolization for Coronary Artery Fistula with Giant Aneurysm Originating from Left Circumflex Artery and Drainage to Right Ventricle
Coronary artery fistulae (CAF) represent the most frequent congenital anomalies influencing hemodynamic parameters of coronary arteries. However, CAF complicated with a huge aneurysm does not frequently occur. Determining the optimal management of symptomatic patients with CAF and aneurysm still remains a challenging problem, and has been traditionally considered as an indication for cardiac su...
متن کاملSurgical correction of a congenital coronary arterial fistula and a massive sinus of Valsalva aneurysm.
The case of a 22-year old male patient who presented with a congenital coronary arterial fistula from the right coronary artery to the right ventricle is described. The arterial fistula had led to an aneurysm of the right sinus of Valsalva and the proximal right coronary artery. The aneurysm was incised from the aorta and the fistula closed with a pericardial patch. The diameter of the aneurysm...
