چکیده

POLI F., Tosi B., DALL'OLIO G. & BRUNI A. 1992. Production of thiophenes in calli and suspension cultures of Tagetes patula L. as influenced by light/dark succession. — Phyton (Horn, Austria) 31 (2): 257-262, 3 figures. English with German summary. HPTLC-densitometry was used to evaluate thiophene accumulation in leaf calli and cell suspension of Tagetes patula. Calli obtained from 7-8 weeks old leaves were subcultured in supplemented MS for many months. The secondary calli showed 4 to 6-fold higher fresh weight increment in 2 weeks while the tertiary ones only doubled their weight in the same period. A considerable increase of thiophene production (about 16.5 -fold) was obtained growing calli under successive light/dark periods. Repeated subculturing of callus tissues resulted in a slow decline of the thiophene yield. Under the same conditions, cell suspension cultures did not exhibit an appreciable increment in thiophene content which decreased with subculturing.

GLC and GLC-mS analysis of thiophene derivatives in plants and in in vitro cultures of Tagetes patula L. (Asteraceae).

The occurrence of thiophenic compounds in diverse plant organs and in in vitro root-, callus- and cell suspension cultures of Tagetes patula cv. Carmen was investigated using capillary GLC and GLC-MS. The separation of thiophenes by capillary GLC and the group specific MS fragmentation with the typical sulfur isotope peaks allowed the unequivocal assignment of individual thiophenes in complex m...

Cell Suspension Culture of Plumbago europaea L. Towards Production of Plumbagin

Background: Plumbagin is as an important bioactive secondary metabolite found in the roots of Plumbago spp. The only one species, Plumbago europaea L., grows wild in Iran. The therapeutic use of plumbagin is limited due to its insufficient supply from the natural sources as the plants grow slowly and take several years to produce quality roots. O...

EMBRYOGENESIS AND RHIZOGENESIS IN MATURE ZYGOTIC EMBRYOS OF OLIVE (OLEA EUROPAEA L.) CULTIVARS MISSION AND KRONEIKI

Organogenesis and neoformant plantlet production were studied by culturing the different parts of mature embryo including radicle and proximal and distal parts of cotyledon of Mission and Kroneiki cultivars. Different parts of embryos were cultures in OMc medium containing growth regulators, such as indole butyric acid (IBA) and 2-isopentenyl adenine (2-ip) or IBA and naphthalene acetic acid (N...

Effect of light and passage on cardiac glycoside production on cultured cell of Digitalis nervosa Steud & Hochst

Light is important for the production of metabolites by plant cell culture. It is therefore necessary to evaluate the light conditions with respect to exposure time. Both enhancement and inhibition have been observed depending on exposure time and species. Callus culture of D. nervosa was established and effect of light and passage on cardiac glycoside production was studied. In vitro cultures ...
