چکیده

We investigate electron thermalization of tunnel junction arrays installed in a powerful dilution refrigerator whose mixing chamber can produce lattice temperatures down to 3mK. The on-chip Coulomb blockade thermometers (CBT) against other thermometers at the mixing chamber provide direct information on the thermal equilibrium between the electronic system and the refrigerator. We can detect and discriminate between the heat load delivered through the wiring and that produced by the bias current of the CBT-measurement. The basic heat leak limits the minimum of the electronic temperature to slightly below 20mK. c © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. PACS: 73.40.Gk; 07.20.Dt; 73.40.Rw

The Analysis of Coulomb Blockade in Fullerene Single Electron Transistor at Room Temperature

The Graphene based single electron transistor (SET) as a coulomb blockade device need to be explored .It is a unique device for high-speed operation in a nano scale regime. A single electron transfers via the coulomb barriers, but its movement may be prevented by coulomb blockade, so its effect is investigated in this research. The conditions of coulomb blockade and its controlling factors such...

Nanoelectronic primary thermometry below 4 mK

Cooling nanoelectronic structures to millikelvin temperatures presents extreme challenges in maintaining thermal contact between the electrons in the device and an external cold bath. It is typically found that when nanoscale devices are cooled to ∼ 10 mK the electrons are significantly overheated. Here we report the cooling of electrons in nanoelectronic Coulomb blockade thermometers below 4 m...

Nanothermometer using single crystal silver nanospheres.

Conventional thermometers have been widely employed in scientific researches and industrial applications. Thermometers with nanometer scaled spatial resolution attract more and more attentions recently with the rapid development of nanotechnology and nanoengineering. Many kinds of nanothermometers have been designed by duplicating the conventional thermometers at nanoscale through decreasing th...

Voltage-sustained self-oscillation of a nano-mechanical electron shuttle

One core challenge of nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) is their efficient actuation. A promising concept superseding resonant driving is self-oscillation. Here, we demonstrate voltage-sustained self-oscillation of a nanomechanical charge shuttle. Stable transport at 4.2 K is observed for billions of shuttling cycles, giving rise to ohmic current-voltage curves with a sharp dissipation thres...

Coulomb blockade in monolayer MoS2 single electron transistor.

Substantial effort has been dedicated to understand the intrinsic electronic properties of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). However, electron transport study on monolayer MoS2 has been challenging to date, especially at low temperatures due to large metal/semiconductor junction barriers. Herein, we report the fabrication and characterization of the monolayer MoS2 single-electron transistor. High pe...
