Irradiation tests on bipolar front-end preamplifier using the Harris UHF1 technology

چکیده
A low noise, low power, radiation hard, full custom integrated circuit has been studied for coupling with photodetectors of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter. A new version of the prototype preamplifier has been designed with improved performances (noise, dynamic range, consumption). Irradiation tests on this monolithic circuit have been performed at CERN with a Xray SEIFERT RP149 generator up to 10Mrad (SiO 2). Tests results are presented.

Development of a small-scale prototype of the GOSSIPO-2 chip in 0.13 μm CMOS technology
The GOSSIP (Gas On Slimmed Silicon Pixel) detector is a proposed alternative for silicon based pixel detectors. The Gossip Prototype (GOSSIPO) chip is being developed to serve as a prototype read-out chip for such a gas-filled detector. Thanks to the very low capacitance at the preamplifier input, the front-end of the chip demonstrates low-noise performance in combination with a fast peaking ti...

The CARIOCA front-end is an amplifier discriminator chip, using 0.25Pm CMOS technology, developed with a very fast and low noise preamplifier. This prototype was designed to have input impedance below 10:. Measurements showed a peaking time of 14ns and noise of 450e at zero input capacitance, with a noise slope of 37.4 e/pF. The sensitivity of 8mV/fC remains almost unchanged up to a detector ca...

An analog front-end composed of a preamplifier and a Σ-∆ modulator is proposed and implemented for digital hearing aid chip. Combined gain control (CGC), the technique, which incorporates an automatic gain control (AGC) with an exponential gain control (EGC), is employed to enlarge dynamic range and reduce power consumption. The proposed Σ-∆ modulator exploits adaptive-SNR technique, which gene...
