Woodland Extraction from High-Resolution CASMSAR Data Based on Dempster-Shafer Evidence Theory Fusion

چکیده
Mapping and monitoring of woodland resources is necessary, since woodland is vital for the natural environment and human survival. The intent of this paper is to propose a fusion scheme for woodland extraction with different frequency (Pand X-band) polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) and interferometric SAR (InSAR) data. In the study area of Hanjietou, China, a supervised complex Wishart classifier based on the initial polarimetric feature analysis was first applied to the PolSAR data and achieved an overall accuracy of 88%. An unsupervised classification based on elevation threshold segmentation was then applied to the InSAR data, with an overall accuracy of 90%. After Dempster-Shafer (D-S) evidence theory fusion processing for the PolSAR and InSAR classification results, the overall accuracy of fusion result reached 95%. It was found the proposed fusion method facilitates the reduction of polarimetric and interferometric SAR classification errors, and is suitable for the extraction of large areas of land cover with a uniform texture and height. The woodland extraction accuracy of the study area was sufficiently high (producer’s accuracy of 96% and user’s accuracy of 96%) enough that the woodland map generated from the fusion result can meet the demands of forest resource mapping and monitoring. A Sensor-Based Scheme for Activity Recognition in Smart Homes using Dempster-Shafer Theory of Evidence
This paper proposes a scheme for activity recognition in sensor based smart homes using Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. In this work, opinion owners and their belief masses are constructed from sensors and employed in a single-layered inference architecture. The belief masses are calculated using beta probability distribution function. The frames of opinion owners are derived automatically ...

متن کاملREGION MERGING STRATEGY FOR BRAIN MRI SEGMENTATION USING DEMPSTER-SHAFER THEORY
Detection of brain tissues using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an active and challenging research area in computational neuroscience. Brain MRI artifacts lead to an uncertainty in pixel values. Therefore, brain MRI segmentation is a complicated concern which is tackled by a novel data fusion approach. The proposed algorithm has two main steps. In the first step the brain MRI is divided to...
متن کاملA NEW FUZZY MORPHOLOGY APPROACH BASED ON THE FUZZY-VALUED GENERALIZED DEMPSTER-SHAFER THEORY
In this paper, a new Fuzzy Morphology (FM) based on the GeneralizedDempster-Shafer Theory (GDST) is proposed. At first, in order to clarify the similarity ofdefinitions between Mathematical Morphology (MM) and Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST),dilation and erosion morphological operations are studied from a different viewpoint. Then, based on this similarity, a FM based on the GDST is proposed. Unlik...
