The Effects of Fear Appeals and Cultural Assimilation on the Church

چکیده

This study focuses on two common though latent factors of Southern Baptist churches—appeals to fear and the assimilation of outside cultures. These variables play a significant role in shaping both the church as an organization and the communication that takes place within that organizational framework. The intended purposes, roles in communication, and effects of these factors are examined in light of previous research as well as in the context of Groupthink Theory. The purpose of this analysis is to consider the question, “What effects do fear appeals and cultural assimilation have on the church?” ABSTRACT
