چکیده

Hydatid disease is very common in endemic areas and is one of the most frequent parasitoses in Turkey. We present a rare case of hydatidosis related to the right hepatic colon lumen. Hydatid cysts were present on the liver, in the right adrenal region, and also on the hepatic flexura, surrounded by the right colon and omentum. In our case, a cyst adjacent to the ascending colon had ruptured into the colon lumen and developed a cystocolonic communication. Cysts may not always be detectable by ultrasound (US); adrenal and right colonic cysts may not be detected, depending on the patient’s colonic gas superposition factors or other reasons related to the operator. In our case, multiple hydatid cysts and cystocolonic communication of complications of the cyst were found with multidetector computerized tomography (MDCT), and then, a colonoscopy identified the cystocolonic communication. These results reveal the important role of CT in the differential diagnosis process. J Clin Exp Invest 2016; 7 (2): 207-210

Hydatid Cyst: Enteric Fistula in a Patient with Disseminated Abdominal Hydatidosis

Disseminated peritoneal hydatidosis is rare. Infrequently hydatid cysts can rupture into adjacent organs. We report a case of secondarily disseminated peritoneal hydatidosis with rupture into the gut presenting as hydatidorrhoea. A 26-year-old man presented with passage of white ‘grape’–like structures with stool. Ultrasonography showed disseminated hydatidosis. Magnetic resonance imaging furth...

Acute Appendicitis Caused by an Echinococcal Brood Capsule Unmasks an Asymptomatic Hepatic Hydatid Cyst

Hydatidosis is an endemic helminthic disease in the cattle-grazing regions of Asia. It is usually caused by the cestode Echinococcus granulosus. We present a unique case of appendiceal hydatidosis in an 18-year-old woman with ...

Laparoscopic management of an isolated primary omental hydatid cyst: A case report and literature review.

Primary isolated omental hydatid cysts are extremely rare. Usually, omental hydatid cysts are secondary, either resulting from spontaneous spread of cysts or occurring after operations involving hydatidosis in other regions. Here, we report a case of a primary isolated omental hydatid cyst treated with a laparoscopic approach. We report a 16-year-old female who admitted to hospital with right u...
