چکیده

This document is about the “UWB co-existence analysis” to be published as an Ultrawaves deliverable D2.2. The document covers the co-existence studies between ultra wideband and other radio systems. If UWB systems will be adopted in a common use globally, or only in Europe, an inevitable consequence is that the UWB co-existence issues will have more and more significant role in the near future due to the increasing number of existing UWB devices. Due to the huge bandwidth of the UWB signal, the spectral overlapping with the existing radio systems cannot be avoided. The goal of T2.2 is to study UWB impact on other existing radio systems, and vice versa. In this phase of the Ultrawaves project, different physical layer options are under the study. Also, the effects of different UWB modulation schemes are taken into account in the co-existence point of view. The impact of UWB on the other radio systems, and visa versa, can be studied analytically and by simulations. From the literature, also some experimental test results can be found. During the work some potential victim radio systems or interference sources will be selected to be studied in more details. The requirement for the other system is that the spectra of the UWB and the selected radio system are overlapping, and that is why there is a possibility for the performance degradation in either of the systems. Minimizing drop cost for SONET/WDM networks with wavelength requirements

SONET/WDM networks using wavelength add–drop multiplexing can be constructed using certain graph decompositions used to form a “grooming,” consisting of unions of certain primitive rings. The existence of such decompositions when every pair of sites employs no more than 8 of the wavelength capacity is determined, with few possible exceptions, when the ring size is a multiple of four. The techni...

Altered plasma fibrin clot properties are associated with in-stent thrombosis.

OBJECTIVE We sought to investigate whether patients with in-stent thrombosis (IST) display altered plasma fibrin clot properties. METHODS AND RESULTS We studied 47 definite IST patients, including 15 with acute, 26 subacute and 6 late IST, and 48 controls matched for demographics, cardiovascular risk factors, concomitant treatment and angiographic/stent parameters. Plasma clot permeability (K...

Effects of elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration on leaf dark respiration of Xanthium strumarium in light and in darkness.

Leaf dark respiration (R) is an important component of plant carbon balance, but the effects of rising atmospheric CO(2) on leaf R during illumination are largely unknown. We studied the effects of elevated CO(2) on leaf R in light (R(L)) and in darkness (R(D)) in Xanthium strumarium at different developmental stages. Leaf R(L) was estimated by using the Kok method, whereas leaf R(D) was measur...

Plant growth in elevated CO2 alters mitochondrial number and chloroplast fine structure.

With increasing interest in the effects of elevated atmospheric CO(2) on plant growth and the global carbon balance, there is a need for greater understanding of how plants respond to variations in atmospheric partial pressure of CO(2). Our research shows that elevated CO(2) produces significant fine structural changes in major cellular organelles that appear to be an important component of the...
