Of the 58 women delivered in the house 30 were primiparse, and 28 were multipara. The numbers were as follows:?30 i.-parse, 16 ii.-parse, 3 iii.-parse, 4 i v.-parse, 1 v.-para, 2 vi.-parse, and 2 x.-parse. The average age of the primiparse was 21'66 years?the oldest being 35, the youngest 15. The average age of the multiparse was 27'25 years?the oldest being 40, and the youngest 20 years of age. There were 58 children born, 32 males and 26 females. The primiparse gave birth to 17 males and 13 females. The multiparse gave birth to 15 males and 13 females. There were 6 cases of premature labour, 4 at the seventh month, and 2 at the sixth month of gestation. Average Duration of Labour.?Primiparse :?1st stage, 12 hours, 51 minutes, 10 seconds ; 2nd stage, 4 hours, 40 minutes, 51 seconds ; 3rd stage, 18 minutes. Longest total labour, 54 hours, 45 minutes; shortest total labour, 4 hours.
