چکیده
Game developers have always striven to create better andmore complex games. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in gamesis increasing in game development to this end. However there appearsto be a mismatch of implications and expectations between game de-velopers and AI researchers of what AI can bring to games, mostlydue to differences of interpretation of the problems involved. To over-come this we present a taxonomy to aid knowledge transfer betweenthe two groups, including elements from environments, game theory, and information theory. We also identify other concepts of games andAI that could be important to both sides.

This paper aims to follow up the proposal of the AISB’09 Convention organizers in order to promote the interchange of knowledge and methodologies between the “multi-agent systems”-analyses and the “social network” perspectives. The idea is, first of all, to summarise ten years of research on the “small world”-paradigm and to present the most recent work on the topology of complex legal systems....
