چکیده

The power of an adaptive equalizer is maximized when the structural parameters including the tap-length and decision delay can be optimally chosen. Although the method for adjusting either the tap-length or decision delay has been proposed, adjusting both simultaneously becomes much more involved as they interact with each other. In this paper, this problem is solved by putting a linear prewhitener before the equalizer, with which the equivalent channel becomes maximum-phase. This implies that the optimum decision delay can be simply fixed at the tap-length minus one, while the tap-length can then be chosen using a similar approach as that proposed in our previous work.

Coefficients - Delay Simultaneous Adaptation Scheme for Linear Equalization of Nonminimum Phase Channels

An efficient adaptation technique of the delay is introduced for accomplishing more accurate adaptive linear equalization of nonminimum phase channels. It is focused that the filter structure and adaptation procedure of the adaptive Butler-Cantoni (ABC) equalizer is very suitable to deal with a variable delay for each iteration, compared with a classical adaptive linear transversal equalizer (L...

Adaptive linear equalization combined with noncoherent detection for MDPSK signals

A novel noncoherent receiver for M{ary di erential phase shift{keying (MDPSK) signals transmitted over intersymbol interference (ISI) channels is presented. The noncoherent receiver consists of a linear equalizer and a decision{feedback di erential detector. A signi cant performance gain over a previously proposed noncoherent receiver can be observed. For an in nite number of feedback symbols, ...

A Novel Map-mlse Adaptive Receiver with Enhanced Performance

Several contributions have recently shown that adaptive receivers based on Symbol-by-Symbol Maximum A Posteriori (SbS-MAP) equalizers are an attractive alternative to the more common ones based on Maximum Likelihood Sequence (MLS) detectors (see, e.g., [1,6]). However, these two equalizers present advantages that, if suitably exploited in a combined form, can be used to develop high performance...

Performance Comparison between MAI and Noise Constrained LMS Algorithm for MIMO CDMA DFE and Linear Equalizers

This paper presents a performance comparison between a constrained least mean squared algorithm for MIMO CDMA decision feedback equalizer and linear equalizer. Both algorithms are constrained on the length of spreading sequence, number of users, variance of multiple access interference as well as additive white Gaussian noise (new constraint). An important feature of both algorithms is that mul...

A General Formulation for Least-Squares Problems

Abstract — We show in this paper that many different least-squares problems which have applications in signal processing may be seen as special cases of a more general vector space minimization problem called the Minimum Norm problem. We show that special cases of the Minimum Norm problem include: least squares fitting of a finite set of points to a linear equation and to a quadratic equation; ...
