A Service Management Framework for M-Commerce Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Mobile commerce (m-commerce) refers to an ability to conduct wireless commerce transactions using mobile applications in mobile devices. M-commerce applications can range from as simple as an address book synchronization to as complicated as credit card transactions. M-commerce is expected to grow dramatically in the near future supporting simple to complex commerce transactions. Even though the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is designed to facilitate the development of wireless applications, it will not be sufficient to handle complex business transactions that require cooperation of different service applications. In order to handle these complex mobile commerce transactions efficiently, an intelligent, robust and scalable framework that provides diverse m-commerce services is required. This paper describes in detail such an m-commerce framework based on the Java Intelligent Network Infrastructure (JINI) and Wireless Applications Protocol (WAP).

A Framework for the Emerging Mobile Commerce Applications
We envision many new e-commerce applications will be possible and significantly benefit from emerging wireless and mobile networks. These applications can collectively be termed "wireless e-commerce" or "mobile commerce". To allow designers, developers, and researchers to strategize and effectively implement mobile commerce applications, we propose a 4-level integrated framework for mobile comm...
متن کاملMobile Commerce: Framework, Applications and Networking Support
Advances in e-commerce have resulted in significant progress towards strategies, requirements, and development of e-commerce applications. However, nearly all e-commerce applications envisioned and developed so far assume fixed or stationary users with wired infrastructure. We envision many new e-commerce applications that will be possible and significantly benefit from emerging wireless and mo...
متن کاملCustomer information sharing between e-commerce applications
The management of one-to-one business interaction is challenged by the latency in the acquisition of information about the individual customer’s preferences. Although sharing this type of information would empower service providers to personalize the interaction with new customers since the first connection, this idea can be hardly applied in real cases if the service provider cannot protect th...
متن کاملIssues in Managing Soft QoS Requirements in Distributed Systems Using a Policy-Based Framework
We address the problem of Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for multimedia applications (e.g., distance education, telemedicine, electronic commerce). These applications need to be able to co-exist with more traditional applications for transaction and data processing and have soft real-time requirements. Unlike most other work in QoS management, we provide a framework that does not require...
متن کاملSemantic-enhanced Bluetooth discovery protocol for m-commerce applications
We present a novel resource discovery framework for mcommerce. We extend the original Bluetooth Service Discovery Protocol by integrating a semantic layer within the application level of the standard. Given a request, this layer makes possible an enhanced discovery process exploiting the semantics of the resources descriptions exposed by a hotspot. The enhancement is compatible with the basic d...
