چکیده

We consider under what conditions any narrow neutral resonance, particularly the recently reported state c(2.2), could be a Higgs particle, either a fundamental boson or a composite Technicolor state. A number of tests are summarized including what is expected in T decay, bquark decay, 2’ decays, branching ratios and properties of t(2.2) decay, and production at hadron machines. Implications for the standard model, Technicolor, and Supersymmetry are discussed. Submitted to Physics Letters B

γf̄f in the strongly interacting phase of the MSSM

We analyze gg → γf̄f scattering in the limit of large Higgs-stop coupling. We point out that this process can be a useful tool for both Higgs and SUSY searches at the LHC. e-mail:[email protected] Address after 1st of October: ICTP, Trieste, Italy The Minimal Supersymmetric Model contains a total of five Higgs scalars; two charged, two CP-even and a CP-odd one. It is known that...

Resonant radiation pressure on neutral particles in a waveguide.

A theoretical analysis of electromagnetic forces on neutral particles in a hollow waveguide is presented. We show that the effective scattering cross section of a very small (Rayleigh) particle can be strongly modified inside a waveguide. The coupling of the scattered dipolar field with the waveguide modes induces a resonant enhanced backscattering state of the scatterer-guide system close to t...

Measuring Higgs Couplings at a Linear Collider

A new particle compatible with a Higgs boson [1] has been discovered by ATLAS [2] and CMS [3]. While the existence of a narrow light resonance has been established beyond reasonable doubt, the endeavor to study its properties has only begun [4]. Soon, the LHC energy will be increased to up to 14 TeV. Detector and machine upgrades can give us an integrated luminosity of up to 3000 fb−1 at this e...

Tunable Plasmonic Nanoparticles Based on Prolate Spheroids

Metallic nanoparticles can exhibit very large optical extinction in the visible spectrum due to localized surface plasmon resonance. Spherical plasmonic nanoparticles have been the subject of numerous studies in recent years due to the fact that the scattering response of spheres can be analytically evaluated using Mie theory. However a major disadvantage of metallic spherical nanoparticles is ...

Probing Mssm Higgs Sector Cp Violation at a Photon Collider *

We study the phenomenological implications of the Higgs sector CP violation at a photon collider. In our model, the CP violation is radiatively induced by the non–trivial CP phases of the third–generation scalar–quark sector in the MSSM. We re–evaluate the s–channel resonance production cross sections and the polarization asymmetries of the neutral Higgs bosons based on the calculation of the m...
