Native Sathiya. The operation for the removal of the defect of vision depending on cataract, as practised by this class, is somewhat similar to the, old operation of " couching"?ail operation which, till a recent date, held its own place in opposition to other modes of treatment, in the hands of the surgeons of more civilised countries. But the instruments employed by them are certainly most primitive in design, and such as
