چکیده

Int Clin Pathol J 2016, 2(2): 00032 locus has been identified in children of age two years or younger with various types of leukemia. Heterogeneity of the breakpoints ranging from 7q32 (very few) or q36 (frequently) and 12p13 have been reported in myeloid disorders [4-9]. We report here a case of Pediatric Acute Erythroblastic Leukemia with a variant t(7;12) translocation involving three chromosomes 5, 7 and 12 with loss of the RB1 locus at 13q14 region of chromosome 13. Sequential metaphase FISH and cytogenetics were performed to identify the partner chromosomes in the ETV6 locus rearrangement.

A Rare Case of Acute Myeloid Leukemia with Translocation (3:3) Presenting with Features of Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia

Background: Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with translocation (3,3) is a form of AML that may present de novo or may arise from a previous myelodysplastic syndrome. It is often associated with normal or elevated peripheral blood platelet count and increased bone marrow megakaryocytes with associated multi lineage dysplasia. A subset of patients present with hepatosplenomegaly while a few cases h...

Acute erythroid leukemia: a reassessment using criteria refined in the 2008 WHO classification.

Acute erythroid leukemia (AEL) is a rare type of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) for which diagnostic criteria have been refined in the 2008 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of AML. The relationship of AEL to myelodysplastic syndromes (MDSs) and to AML with myelodysplasia-related changes (AML-MRC) is not clearly defined. We conducted a retrospective, multi-institutional study of pati...

The Difference in Initial Leukocyte Count, Bone Marrow Blast Cell Count and CD 34 Expression in Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia with and without NPM1 gene Mutation

Background: Mutation in NPM1 gene has been reported to be the most common genetic mutation in de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML). AML with NPM1 gene mutation usually presents with higher initial leukocyte and blast cell counts and negative CD34 expression. We aimed to investigate the difference of initial leukocyte counts, bone marrow blast cell counts and expression of CD34 among patients wi...
