چکیده
Number of Papers published in peer-reviewed journals: Final Report: Transformative Colloidal Nanomaterials for Mid-Infrared Devices Report Title The grant focused on the Photoluminescence efficiency of HgTe colloidal quantum dots. The photoluminescence quantum yield of HgTe colloidal quantum dots was measured from 1800 to 6500 cm-1 . There is a steep drop at low energy consistent with the generic gap law. Direct evidence of energy transfer to the CH stretch and overtone vibrations is apparent when temperature tunes the PL wavelength of a given sample through the vibrational resonances. Calculations based on the radiative rate and resonant energy transfer to the ligand vibrations appear to account for much of the quantum yield drop. Power dependent photoluminescence lifetime measurements on 3.7 nm particles show fast , ~50 ps, biexciton lifetime similar to other colloidal quantum dot systems of similar sizes. Various synthetic modifications have been explored to increase the PL or the size of the particles, modify the particle composition, with interesting observations but moderate improvements (a) Papers published in peer-reviewed journals (N/A for none) Enter List of papers submitted or published that acknowledge ARO support from the start of the project to the date of this printing. متن کاملCritical Dimensions of Disaster Recovery Planning
Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) emerged in the 1970s, during the era of electronic data processing when mainframe systems were used to crunch data and provide reports for business analysis. The importance of DRP is undeniable especially after the 911 terrorism attack and many natural disasters experienced by many countries; much effort has then poured in to maintain a set of workable DRP. Howe...
متن کاملNutrient flux in storm water runoff and baseflow from managed turf.
The urban landscape is comprised of many land uses, none more intensively managed than turfgrass; however, quantification of nutrient losses from specific land uses within urban watersheds, specifically golf courses is limited. Nitrate (NO(3)-N) and dissolved reactive phosphorus (DRP) were measured on a golf course in Austin, TX, USA from April 1, 1998 to March 31, 2003. NO(3)-N and DRP concent...
متن کاملDirect Activation of NADPH Oxidase 2 by 2-Deoxyribose-1-Phosphate Triggers Nuclear Factor Kappa B-Dependent Angiogenesis
AIMS Deoxyribose-1-phosphate (dRP) is a proangiogenic paracrine stimulus released by cancer cells, platelets, and macrophages and acting on endothelial cells. The objective of this study was to clarify how dRP stimulates angiogenic responses in human endothelial cells. RESULTS Live cell imaging, electron paramagnetic resonance, pull-down of dRP-interacting proteins, followed by immunoblotting...
متن کاملA randomised controlled trial of an exercise plus behaviour change intervention in people with multiple sclerosis: the step it up study protocol
BACKGROUND Exercise has consistently yielded short-term, positive effects on health outcomes in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). However, these effects have not been maintained in the long-term. Behaviour change interventions aim to promote long-term positive lifestyle change. This study, namely, "Step it Up" will compare the effect of an exercise plus Social Cognitive Theory (SCT)-based be...
