ATM Based Event Building andPC Based Level 3 Trigger at
نویسندگان
چکیده
Baseline event building and Level 3 trigger processing at the CDF experiment at Fermilab is speciied to process about 300 events/s with an average event size of about 150 KB. First, the event must be assembled from fragments originating from approximately 16 readout sources, with individual average fragment sizes ranging from 12 to 16 KB. Then the Level 3 processor-based trigger performs reconstruction and ltering tasks requiring in excess of 45000 MIPS of CPU power on the assembled events. We present a distributed, scalable architecture using commodity components: VME-based CPU modules for the readout, an ATM switch for event buildling, and Pentium-based PC's running Linux for event processing. Pentium-based PC's are also used for event distribution throughout and collection from the Level 3 processors via multiple 100 Mbps Ethernets. We report on preliminary studies conducted at CDF with a small-scale prototype. This architecture is also a possible candidate for the CMS experiment at LHC.

Building Chinese Event Type Paradigm Based on Trigger Clustering
Traditional Event Extraction mainly focuses on event type identification and event participants extraction based on pre-specified event type annotations. However, different domains have different event type paradigms. When transferring to a new domain, we have to build a new event type paradigm. It is a costly task to discover and annotate event types manually. To address this problem, this pap...
متن کاملA Fast High Resolution Track Trigger for the H1 Experiment
After 2001 the upgraded ep collider HERA will provide an about five times higher luminosity for the two experiments H1 and ZEUS. In order to cope with the expected higher event rates the H1 collaboration is building a track based trigger system, the Fast Track Trigger (FTT). It will be integrated in the first three levels (L1–L3) of the H1 trigger scheme to provide higher selectivity for events...
متن کاملAtlas High Level Trigger Infrstructure, Roi Collection and Event Building
We describe the base-line design and implementation of the Data Flow and High Level Trigger (HLT) part of the ATLAS Trigger and Data Acquisition (TDAQ) system. We then discuss improvements and generalization of the system design to allow the handling of events in parallel data streams and we present the possibility for event duplication, partial Event Building and data stripping. We then presen...
متن کاملA Data Mining approach for forecasting failure root causes: A case study in an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) manufacturing company
Based on the findings of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, organizations’ data double every five years. However, the rate of using data is 0.3. Nowadays, data mining tools have greatly facilitated the process of knowledge extraction from a welter of data. This paper presents a hybrid model using data gathered from an ATM manufacturing company. The steps of the research are based on CRISP-D...
