BSA: body surface area CT: computed tomography GMF: granulomatous mycosis fungoides MF: mycosis fungoides PET: positron emission tomography INTRODUCTION Mycosis fungoides (MF) is a T-cell lymphoma that originates in the skin and can spread to lymph nodes and the blood or even visceral organs in later stages of the disease. MF involvement of skeletal muscle, however, is extremely rare, having only been reported in 4 patients. We describe a 14-year-old boy with granulomatous MF (GMF) that infiltrated his left thigh muscles and responded to high-dose oral prednisone. To our knowledge, he represents the first reported case of MF with muscle involvement exhibiting a response to therapy.

GSS: granulomatous slack skin PUVA: psoralen plus ultraviolet A therapy INTRODUCTION Granulomatous slack skin (GSS), a rare variant of mycosis fungoides, is characterized clinically by bulky, pendulous skin folds on flexural areas and histologically by elastolytic granulomatous infiltrates of clonal T cells. The monoclonal rearrangement of the T-cell receptor b and g genes can be demonstrated b...

We describe the case of a 17-year-old patient with rapidly progressing and aggressive mycosis fungoides, with multiple cutaneous tumors and large cell transformation. She was initially treated with 3 cycles of high-dose chemotherapy with mega-CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone) without response, leading to the decision to undertake autologous hematopoietic stem cel...

متن کاملGranulomatous slack skin: a distinct disorder or a variant of mycosis fungoides?
About 75% of cutaneous lymphomas belong to the group of T-cell lymphomas. Mycosis fungoides is the most common entity in this group. Granulomatous slack skin is a rare form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma closely related to mycosis fungoides. We present here a patient with areas of lax skin for several years who developed a generalized erythroderma with associated immunoactivation and a deteriorat...
