Infodemiology by Tweet Mining Methods Tracking of the Chickenpox Spread in Paris Region

This paper describes a system that examines the Twitter discussions to predict the spread of the seasonal epidemics (Chickenpox) in France. For evaluating these trends of spread, our system carries out the automatic collection, analysis and rating of tweets content. Our objective is to discuss variety of issues and challenges regarding use of Text Mining methods and the Social Network Analysis for applications in the medical field. First the paper presents the review of the related work in Social Media Analysis and Text Mining and then describes our system to collecting and manipulating the Twitter data, for predictions. We tested our approach on the Twitter social network, by study the the tweets published on health topics and specially about the Chickenpox spread.
