چکیده

In order to understand the overtaking behavior of, overtaking physical separation events between bicycles and mopeds was taken out. According to the analytical model of road bicycle passing events vehicle spatial features, the bicycle passing events into free events overtaking, adjacent events and blocked events, and based on the bicycle traffic flow velocity distribution characteristics and bicycle space distribution probability, an analytic model of 3 kinds of passing events was taken out. According to the passing events’ survey results on the physically separated nonmotorized lanes of Shanghai, the model is calibrated and verified and the passing events’ overtaking number calculation results was according with the real situation. The model stream the results show that the parameters for the bicycle traffic, road bicycle, bicycle traffic flow in the running speed, traffic flow speed standard deviation and lane number significantly influence of 3 kinds of overtaking event number. This paper aims to present the micro individual characteristics in non-motorized traffic mixed of bicycles and mopeds.

Car Delay Model near Bus Stops with Mixed Traffic Flow

This paper proposes a model for estimating car delays at bus stops under mixed traffic using probability theory and queuing theory. The roadway is divided to serve motorized and nonmotorized traffic streams. Bus stops are located on the nonmotorized lanes. When buses dwell at the stop, they block the bicycles. Thus, two conflict points between car stream and other traffic stream are identified....

Mopeds: the legal loophole for repeat driving while intoxicated offenders.

BACKGROUND Mopeds have less stringent licensing laws than automobiles. Moped operators in motorized vehicle collisions (MVCs) exhibit significantly higher rates of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and higher blood alcohol levels than automobile or motorcycle operators. This study evaluates the public safety issue of DWI recidivism among moped operators. METHODS Moped operators evaluated after ...

VASIC, RUSKIN: Discrete simulation model for traffic including bicycles on urban networks THROUGHPUT AND DELAY IN A DISCRETE SIMULATION MODEL FOR TRAFFIC INCLUDING BICYCLES ON URBAN NETWORKS

The 'greening' of transport is an ongoing concern in today's cities, with many struggling to reach carbon emission targets. One relevant area for effecting change is encouragement and facilitation of alternative, non-motorised transport modes, such as cycling and walking. Understanding the dynamics of non-motorised flows and their interaction with motorised traffic in an urban context is fundam...

Towards a Sustainable Urban Transport System: Planning for Non-motorized Vehicles in Cities

A sustainable transport system must meet the mobility and accessibility needs of people by providing safe and environmentally friendly modes of transportation. This is a complex and difficult task in the mega-cities of developing countries because the needs of people belonging to various income groups are not only different, but also often conflicting in nature. For example, if a large section ...

Personalized Public-Transport Guidance Using Mobile End Devices

Mobility is a vital part of human life. Mobility needs can be met in a variety of ways: motorized and non-motorized individual traffic, local public transport using buses and trains, or mixed systems like taxis and park and ride systems. Individual traffic in particular causes major environment problems and problems of traffic congestion. Strengthening public transport is often favored, but thi...
