Ruthenium catalyzed selective hydrosilylation of aldehydes.

چکیده
A chemoselective hydrosilylation method for aldehydes is developed using a ruthenium catalyst [(Ru(p-cymene)Cl2)2] and triethylsilane; a mono hydride bridged dinuclear complex [{(η(6)-p-cymene)RuCl}2(μ-H-μ-Cl)] and a Ru(iv) mononuclear dihydride complex [(η(6)-p-cymene)Ru(H)2(SiEt3)2] are identified as potential intermediates in the reaction and the proposed catalytic cycle involves a 1,3-hydride migration.

Unexpected selectivity in ruthenium-catalyzed hydrosilylation of primary amides: synthesis of secondary amines.
Selective ruthenium-catalyzed reductive coupling of primary amides under hydrosilylation conditions is achieved using an one pot procedure. Using 3 equiv. of phenylsilane and [RuCl2(mesitylene)]2 (1-2 mol%) as the catalyst at 100 °C under neat conditions, secondary symmetric amines were obtained in good yields and with high chemoselectivities.
متن کاملSelective reduction of carboxylic acids to aldehydes through manganese catalysed hydrosilylation.
The direct reduction of carboxylic acids to disilylacetals was achieved through a manganese catalyzed hydrosilylation reaction in the presence of triethylsilane under mild conditions, at r.t. and under UV irradiation (350 nm). The aldehydes were obtained in good to excellent yields after acidic hydrolysis.
متن کاملHomogeneous gold-catalyzed hydrosilylation of aldehydes
The catalytic hydrosilylation of aldehydes in the presence of PBu3 modified Au(I)-complexes was investigated. In situ IR and NMR experiments have revealed that both, the ligand PBu3 and the substrate aldehyde play an important role in stabilizing the gold catalyst and/or forming the catalytically active species. In their absence the reducing power of silane destabilizes the gold (I) catalyst gi...
متن کاملReactions of a hydrido(hydrosilylene)ruthenium complex with carbonyl compounds.
Reactions of a neutral silyleneruthenium complex with ketones and aldehydes, and isolation of their agostic intermediates are reported, where an alpha-H abstraction or hydrosilylation of the carbonyl compounds occurs depending on the substituents of the substrates.
متن کاملSynthesis of arylketones by ruthenium-catalyzed cross-coupling of aldehydes with arylboronic acids.
The first ruthenium-catalyzed cross-coupling of aldehydes with arylboronic acids is reported. Various aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes are transformed to the corresponding arylketones. A total of 31 examples with moderate to excellent yields are presented, together with the results of an initial mechanistic investigation.
