Plus-minus algorithm - A method for derivation of the Bäcklund transformations

چکیده
A new way of deriving Bäcklund transformations for nonlinear partial differential evolution equations is presented and applied to the following equations: Korteweg–de Vries, Gardner, Burgers, generalized KdV and the fifth order equations of the KdV hierarchies. The presented method is based on the assumption of the existence of particular forms of the Bäcklund transformations. This assumption is supported by the strong or semi-strong necessary condition concepts [Sokalski, K., Wietecha, T., Lisowski, Z., 2001. Acta Phys. Polon. B32, 17; Sokalski, K., Wietecha, T., Lisowski, Z., 2002. Int. J. Theor. Phys. Group Theory Nonlinear Opt., NOVA, 9, 331; Sokalski, K., Wietecha, T., Lisowski, Z., 2001. Acta Phys. Polon. Its general form has been put within the framework of an algorithm and implemented inMAPLE. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Existence of Dual Equations by Means of Strong Necessary Conditions - Analysis of Integrability of Partial Differential Nonlinear Equations
A concept of strong necessary conditions for extremum of functional has been applied for analysis an existence of dual equations for a system of two nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDE) in 1+1 dimensions. We consider two types of the dual equations: the Bäcklund transformations and the Bogomolny equations. A general form of the second order PDE with a derivative-less non-linear term h...
متن کاملBäcklund Transformations for Finite-dimensional Integrable Systems: a Geometric Approach
We present a geometric construction of Bäcklund transformations and discretizations for a large class of algebraic completely integrable systems. To be more precise, we construct families of Bäcklund transformations, which are naturally parametrized by the points on the spectral curve(s) of the system. The key idea is that a point on the curve determines, through the Abel-Jacobi map, a vector o...
متن کاملBäcklund transformations for nonlinear evolution equations: Hilbert space approach
A new method of determining Bäcklund transformations for nonlinear partial differential equations of the evolution type is introduced. Using the Hilbert space approach the problem of finding Bäcklund transformations is brought down to the solution of an abstract equation in Hilbert space.
متن کاملPadé method to Painlevé equations
A class of special solutions of Painlevé/Garnier systems arising as the Bäcklund or Schlesinger transformations of the Riccati solutions is known. In the past several years, the corresponding τ -functions have been explicitly computed and expressed as certain specialization of the Schur functions with rectangle shape partitions. In this note, we will give a simple and direct derivation of these...
متن کاملTruncation-type Methods and Bäcklund Transformations for Ordinary Differential Equations: the Third and Fifth Painlevé Equations
In a recent paper we presented a truncation-type method of deriving Bäcklund transformations for ordinary differential equations. This method is based on a consideration of truncation as a mapping that preserves the locations of a natural subset of the movable poles that the equation possesses. Here we apply this approach to the third and fifth Painlevé equations. For the third Painlevé equatio...
