What Is the Upper Limit on the Lightest Supersymmetric
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this talk the question of what is the upper bound on the lightest supersymmetric Higgs mass, mh is addressed. This question is relevant since experimental lower bounds on mh might implement, in the near future, exclusion of supersymmetry. By imposing (perturbative) unification of the gauge couplings at some high scale > ∼ 10 GeV, we have found that for a top-quark mass Mt = 175 GeV, and depending on the supersymmetric parameters, this bound can be as high as 205 GeV. Calculable Upper Limit on the Mass of the Lightest Higgs Boson in Any Perturbatively Valid Supersymmetric Theory
We show that there is a calculable upper limit on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson in any supersymmetric theory that remains perturbative up to a high scale . There are no restrictions on the Higgs sector, or the gauge group or particle content. We estimate the value of the upper limit to be mh◦ < 146 GeV for 100 GeV <∼ Mt <∼ 145 GeV, from all effects except possibly additional heavy fermio...
متن کاملParticle Mass Limits in Minimal and Nonminimal Supersymmetric Models 1
A review of the Higgs and neutralino sector of supersymmetric models is presented. This includes the upper limit on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, as well as models based on the Standard Model gauge group SU(2)L U(1)Y with extended Higgs sectors. We then discuss the Higgs sector of left-right supersymmetric models, which conserve R-parity as a...
متن کاملThe Lightest Neutralino in Supersymmetric Standard Model with Arbitrary Higgs Sectors
We consider the neutralino mass matrix in a supersymmetric theory based on SU(2) × U(1) gauge group with arbitrary number of singlet, doublet and triplet Higgs superfields. We derive an upper bound on the mass of the lightest neutralino, and a lower bound on the mass of the heaviest neutralino, in such a theory. Assuming grand unification of the gauge couplings, the upper bound on the mass of t...
متن کاملGauge Unification and the Supersymmetric Light Higgs Mass
We consider general supersymmetric models with (a) arbitrary matter content and (b) gauge coupling unification near the string scale ,1017 GeV, and derive the absolute upper limit on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson. For models without Higgs couplings to extra SU(2) triplets the bound is about 155 GeV. The bound is maximized for models with such triplets and can be as high as 205 GeV, signi...
متن کاملSupersymmetric Grand Unification with a Fourth Generation?
The possibility of incorporating a chiral fourth generation into a SUSY-GUT is investigated. Precision fits to electroweak observables require us to introduce light supersymmetric particles, with masses less than MZ . These particles might also provide decay channels for the fourth generation quarks of mass ∼ 100 GeV. We also require tan β to lie in the range 1.50 ∼ tan β ∼ 1.75 and obtain an u...
