چکیده

The paper seeks to investigate the potential of biologically inspired multi-agent systems for architectural applications. The generation of ‘form’ through the process of ‘rigid folding’ represents a complex architectural procedure, which we seek to perform by employing a number of simple collaborative agents. Through a prototypic approach, closely matched with the constraints of a real world application, we want to demonstrate that the central architectural needs of form adaptability and resilience can be increased with this method. The established prototype is intended to serve as the ‘embodiment’ for different codes and strategies to test. Its shape transitions are based on the principal of folding, in which the triangle mesh topology serves as the basis for its folding patterns. © 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Manipulation Control of a Flexible Space Free Flying Robot Using Fuzzy Tuning Approach

Cooperative object manipulation control of rigid-flexible multi-body systems in space is studied in this paper. During such tasks, flexible members like solar panels may get vibrated that in turn may lead to some oscillatory disturbing forces on other subsystems, and consequently produces error in the motion of the end-effectors of the cooperative manipulating arms. Therefore, to design and dev...

CONTROL OF FLEXIBLE JOINT ROBOT MANIPULATORS BY COMPENSATING FLEXIBILITY

A flexible-joint robot manipulator is a complex system because it is nonlinear, multivariable, highly coupled along with joint flexibility and uncertainty. To overcome flexibility, several methods have been proposed based on flexible model. This paper presents a novel method for controlling flexible-joint robot manipulators. A novel control law is presented by compensating flexibility to form a...

Quantitative Modeling of Multi-Agent Systems

This paper presents a network centric method of modeling multi-agent systems in a decentralized data fusion, feature localization scenario. The robotic multi-agent system is abstracted using a matrix of metric interactions stored within a Dynamic Bayesian Network. This model, called a system map, provides a tool which may be used in automated design of multiple robot systems. Results from Monte...

Software Solutions for Distributed Autonomous Multi-Functional Robotics in Space

1. Abstract Robotics systems in space must deal with a host of software challenges in addition to and amplified by the challenges of a hostile space environment and the remoteness in which they operate. Software automation has been used to good effect in managing some of these challenges to control single robotic systems, even multi-functional systems, in previous unmanned missions without the ...

DALI: A Multi Agent System Framework for the Web, Cognitive Robotic and Complex Event Processing

This paper illustrates advances over existing implementation work performed on DALI, which is a logic prolog-based framework for defining agents and Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) developed at University of L’Aquila since 1999, and publicly available. In previous work, DALI features were already extended in view of cognitive robotic applications and Complex Event Processing. Here, we show how to def...
