چکیده

A finite subgroup of the conformal group SL(2,C) can be related to invariant polynomials on a hypersurface in C. The latter then carries a simple singularity, which resolves by a finite iteration of basic cycles of deprojections. The homological intersection graph of this cycles is the Dynkin graph of an ADE Lie group. The deformation of the simple singularity corresponds to ADE symmetry breaking. A 3+1-dimensional topological model of observation is constructed, transforming consistently under SL(2,C), as an evolving 3-dimensional system of world tubes, which connect “possible points of observation”. The existence of an initial singularity for the 4-dimensional space-time is related to its global topological structure. Associating the geometry of ADE singularities to the vertex structure of the topological model puts forward the conjecture on a likewise relation of inner symmetries of elementary particles to local space-time structure. The Grassmannian Origin Of Dual Superconformal Invariance

A dual formulation of the S Matrix for N = 4 SYM has recently been presented, where all leading singularities of n-particle Nk−2MHV amplitudes are given as an integral over the Grassmannian G(k, n), with cyclic symmetry, parity and superconformal invariance manifest. In this short note we show that the dual superconformal invariance of this object is also manifest. The geometry naturally sugges...

We consider the single particle relaxation rate of 2D electrons subject to a random magnetic field. The density of states (DOS) oscillations in a uniform magnetic field (in addition to a random one) are studied. It is shown that the infrared singularities appearing in perturbation theory for the single particle relaxation rate are spurious and can be regularized by a proper choice of gauge. We ...

D ec 1 99 6 Quasi - continuous symmetries of non - Lie type

We introduce a smooth mapping of some discrete space-time symmetries into quasi-continuous ones. Such transformations are related with q-deformations of the dilations of the Euclidean space and with the non-commutative space. We work out two examples of Hamiltonian invariance under such symmetries. The Schrödinger equation for a free particle is investigated in such a non-commutative plane and ...

The Symmetries of Equivalent Lagrangian Systems and Constants of Motion

In this paper Mathematical structure of time-dependent Lagrangian systems and their symmetries are extended and the explicit relation between constants of motion and infinitesimal symmetries of time-dependent Lagrangian systems are considered. Starting point is time-independent Lagrangian systems ,then we extend mathematical concepts of these systems such as equivalent lagrangian systems to th...

Wigner and Serber symmetries for the two-nucleon system provide unique examples of long distance symmetries in Nuclear Physics, i.e. symmetries of the meson exchange forces broken only at arbitrarily small distances. We analyze the large Nc picture as a key ingredient to understand these, so far accidental, symmetries from a more fundamental viewpoint. A set of sum rules for NN phase-shifts, NN...
