چکیده
Fig.2 An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) cannula was used to puncture the mesh wall of the covered self-expandable metal stent (SEMS). A guidewire was then passed through the mesh wall and the opposite wall of the metal stent. Fig.1 A covered self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) used for endoscopic ultrasoundguided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS-HGS) had nearly migrated into the peritoneal cavity of an 82-year-old man as a result of interference between the percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage catheter and the SEMS.The distal end of the stent could barely be seen.

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS An iincreasing number of reports describe endoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy for malignant biliary obstruction in patients with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography failure. However, this procedure has not yet been standardized; as a result, the rate of adverse events, including bile leakage and stent migration, is relatively high. Here, we repo...
متن کاملEndoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy using two metal stents locked together.
Endoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS-HGS) is a recently developed technique for biliary decompression in patients with biliary obstruction, which offers an alternative when endoscopic biliary drainage (EBD) or percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) fail, or when the papilla is inaccessible [1]. However, EUS-HGS has several disadvantages, including early stent occlusi...

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided hepaticogastrostomy with a fully covered metal stent is an option for malignant biliary obstruction after a failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) [1–3]; however, migration of the stent can be a fatal complication [3, 4]. We report a case in which a migrated stent was successful reset using a foreign body forceps. A 73-year-old woman deve...
متن کاملSuccessful re-intervention with metal stent trimming using argon plasma coagulation after endoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy.
Recently, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)guided biliary drainage has been introduced as an alternative method after failed endoscopic biliary drainage, particularly in patients with a pre-existing duodenal obstruction [1–3]. A longer self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) is usually used for EUS-guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS-HGS) to prevent stent migration. However, re-intervention after EUS-HGS is c...
