Applications of Deterministic Optimization Techniques to some Probabilistic Choice Models for Product Pricing using Reservation Prices

چکیده
We consider revenue management models for pricing a product line with several customer segments, working under the assumption that every customer’s product choice is determined entirely by their reservation price. We model the customer choice behavior by several probabilistic choice models and formulate the resulting problems as mixed-integer programming problems. We study special properties of these formulations and compare the resulting optimal prices of the different probabilistic choice models. We also explore some heuristics and valid inequalities to improve the running time of the mixed-integer programming problems. We illustrate the computational results of our models on real and generated customer data taken from a company in the tourism sector. متن کاملMeasuring Heterogeneous Reservation Prices for Product Bundles
This paper develops a model for capturing continuous heterogeneity in the joint distribution of reservation prices for products and bundles. Our model is derived from utility theory and captures both withinand among-subject variability. Furthermore, it provides dollarmetric reservation prices and individual-level estimates that allow the firm to target customers and develop customized and nonli...
متن کاملDynamic Pricing with Periodic Review and a Finite set of Prices with Cancellation
In this paper, three dynamic pricing models are developed and analyzed. We assume a limited number of a particular asset is offered for sale over a period of time. This asset is perishable and can be an inventory or a manufacturing capacity. During each period, the seller sets a price for this asset. This price is selected from a predetermined discrete set. The maximum amount which a customer i...
متن کاملOptimization Based Approaches to Product Pricing
We consider various axioms for customer behaviour using utility functions and socalled “reservation prices” and then based on these axioms, we discuss some mathematical models (employing integer programming, convex programming and classical nonlinear programming) for deciding on product prices to maximize the total profit (or perhaps another suitable objective function also involving minimizati...
متن کاملOption Pricing on Commodity Prices Using Jump Diffusion Models
In this paper, we aim at developing a model for option pricing to reduce the risks associated with Ethiopian commodity prices fluctuations. We used the daily closed Unwashed Lekempti grade 5 (ULK5) coffee and Whitish Wollega Sesame Seed Grade3 (WWSS3) prices obtained from Ethiopia commodity exchange (ECX) market to analyse the prices fluctuations. The natures of log-returns of the prices exhibit a...
