چکیده

2 Technique Determining a velocity ACF from experimental data is not a straightforward task, especially for laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV) data. Unlike measurements obtained from a hot-wire probe, the LDV signal is inherently intermittent by nature due to the random arrival of particles at the measurement volume. An advantage of the Poisson distributed arrival times is that the Nyquist criterion need not be satisfied since aliasing is not an issue when randomly sampling (Adrian and Yao, 1987). However, the randomly varying time interval between data points complicates the approach for determining the discretized ACF and introduces a velocity bias (see x2.2). As a result, the “slotting technique” was developed (e.g., Mayo et al., 1974; Gaster and Roberts, 1975) where data pairs are grouped into slots corresponding

Spectral responsitivity and efficiency of metal-based femtosecond autocorrelation technique

We have studied, for the first time experimentally, the efficiency and spectral responsivity of an autocorrelation technique that is based on second harmonic generation from metal surfaces. High-quality autocorrelation traces are obtained with pulse energies as small as only 64 pJ (intensity 6.5 MW/cm), resulting in an efficiency that is comparable with existing nonlinear-crystal-based autocorr...

Blind CP-OFDM and ZP-OFDM Parameter Estimation in Frequency Selective Channels

Abstract— A cognitive radio system needs accurate knowledge of the radio spectrum it operates in. Blind modulation recognition techniques have been proposed to discriminate between single-carrier and multicarrier modulations and to estimate their parameters. Some powerful techniques use autocorrelation and cyclic autocorrelation based features of the transmitted signal applying to OFDM signals ...

Robust Autocorrelation Estimation

In this paper, we introduce a new class of robust autocorrelation estimators based on interpreting the sample autocorrelation function as a linear regression. We investigate the efficiency and robustness properties of the estimators that result from employing three common robust regression techniques. Construction of robust autocovariance and positive definite autocorrelation estimates is discu...

On the use of filter-bank energies driven from the autocorrelation sequence for noisy speech recognition

The OSA-LP (One-Sided Autocorrelation LP) representation of speech signal has shown to be attractive for noisy speech recognition because of both its high recognition performance with respect to the conventional LP in severe conditions of additive broad-band noise and its computational simplicity. However, the mel-cepstrum representation, which comes from a filter bank (FB) analysis, has become...
