چکیده

The paper is devoted to the investigation of the relationship between slow integral manifolds of singularly perturbed differential equations and critical phenomena in chemical kinetics and laser models. We tried to consider different problems using the techniques of canards and black swans. The mathematical language of singular perturbations seems to apply to all critical phenomena even in the most disparate chemical systems.

Introduction to Schramm-Loewner evolution and its application to critical systems

In this short review we look at recent advances in Schramm-Loewner Evolution (SLE) theory and its application to critical phenomena. The application of SLE goes beyond critical systems to other time dependent, scale invariant phenomena such as turbulence, sand-piles and watersheds. Through the use of SLE, the evolution of conformally invariant paths on the complex plane can be followed; hence a...

tMANS - the Multi-Scale Agent-Based Networked Simulation for the Study of Multi-Scale, Multi-Level Biological and Social Phenomena

We propose a multi-scale agent-based framework towards understanding and modeling multi-scale interdependent behavioral phenomena. This framework combines the ideas of agent-based modeling with that of hierarchies or levels of organization found in nature and allows for multiple levels in the model to interact at various time scales. We first summarize our rationale for pursuing agent-based mod...

Multi-class and multi-scale models of complex biological phenomena.

Computational modeling has significantly impacted our ability to analyze vast (and exponentially increasing) quantities of experimental data for a variety of applications, such as drug discovery and disease forecasting. Single-scale, single-class models persist as the most common group of models, but biological complexity often demands more sophisticated approaches. This review surveys modeling...

Futurology of Multi-Criteria Decision Making Techniques Using Philosophical Assumptions of Paradigms in Scenario Writing

There are many opportunities and threats in the decision-making environment for managers, and an organization must use research and information systems to change, monitor, and anticipate this environment. Futurism reflects how tomorrow reality gives birth to tomorrow's reality is. The purpose of this research; Analyzing the role of futures studies in the existing patterns of critical factors of...

Simulating a Multi-Scale and Multi-Physics Model of a Dendritic Spine

The nervous system encompasses structure and phenomena at different spatial and temporal scales. In addition, different scales are described by different physical and mathematical formalisms. In neuroscience, there is an increasing need to study phenomena where multiple scales and physical formalisms are covered by a single model. Most models developed thus far are limited to one scale and one ...
