Exact Safety Verification of Interval Hybrid Systems Based on Symbolic-Numeric Computation
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we address the problem of safety verification of interval hybrid systems in which the coefficients are intervals instead of explicit numbers. A hybrid symbolicnumeric method, based on SOS relaxation and interval arithmetic certification, is proposed to generate exact inequality invariants for safety verification of interval hybrid systems. As an application, an approach is provided to verify safety properties of nonpolynomial hybrid systems. Experiments on the benchmark hybrid systems are given to illustrate the efficiency of our method.

Symbolic-Numeric Methods for Reliable and Trustworthy Problem Solving in Cyber-Physical Domains
Reflecting the fundamental role numeric and mixed symbolic-numeric arguments play in the analysis, decision making, and control of cyber-physical processes, this seminar promoted crossfertilization between the following research areas relevant to problem solving in cyber-physical domains: verification of numerical reactive systems such as embedded floating-point programs and hybrid systems, inc...
متن کاملComputer-assisted Proofs and Symbolic Computations
We discuss some main points of computer-assisted proofs based on reliable numerical computations. Such so-called self-validating numerical methods in combination with exact symbolic manipulations result in very powerful mathematical software tools. These tools allow proving mathematical statements (existence of a fixed point, of a solution of an ODE, of a zero of a continuous function, of a glo...
متن کاملNumeric Reasoning with Relative Orders of Magnitude
In [Dague, 1993], a formal system ROM(K) involving four relations has been defined to reason with relative orders of magnitude. In this paper, problems of introducing quantitative information and of ensuring validity of the results in IR are tackled. Correspondent overlapping relations are defined in R and all rules of ROM(K) are transposed to R. The obtained system ROM(R) depends on two indepe...
متن کاملExponential-Condition-Based Barrier Certificate Generation for Safety Verification of Hybrid Systems
A barrier certificate is an inductive invariant function which can be used for the safety verification of a hybrid system. Safety verification based on barrier certificate has the benefit of avoiding explicit computation of the exact reachable set which is usually intractable for nonlinear hybrid systems. In this paper, we propose a new barrier certificate condition, called Exponential Conditio...
متن کاملSymbolic-Numeric Integration of Rational Functions
We consider the problem of symbolic-numeric integration of symbolic functions, focusing on rational functions. Using a hybrid method allows the stable yet efficient computation of symbolic antiderivatives while avoiding issues of ill-conditioning to which numerical methods are susceptible. We propose two alternative methods for exact input that compute the rational part of the integral using He...
