The Dynamical Systems Approach to the Equations of a Linearly Viscous Compressible Barotropic Fluid

چکیده
We develop a dynamical systems theory for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations based on global in time weak solutions. The following questions will be addressed: • Global existence and critical values of the adiabatic constant; • dissipativity in the sense of Levinson bounded absorbing sets; • asymptotic compactness; • the long-time behaviour and attractors. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 35Q30, 35A05.

Some Recent Results on the Existence of Global-in-time Weak Solutions to the Navier-stokes Equations of a General Barotropic Fluid
This is a survey of some recent results on the existence of globally defined weak solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations of a viscous compressible fluid with a general barotropic pressure-density relation.
متن کاملRemark on the stabilization of a viscous barotropic medium with a nonmonotonic equation of state
We consider the compressible barotropic Navier-Stokes system in one dimension, with a nonmonotonic equation of state. The associated free boundary problem is investigated, and we prove asymptotic properties of the unique globally defined solution for large time. We also make some comments on a related model of quantum fluid describing the dynamics of cold nuclear matter (zero temperature). @ 20...
متن کاملBlow up of smooth solutions to the barotropic compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations with finite mass and energy
We prove that the smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem for the three-dimensional compressible barotropic magnetohydrodynamic equations with conserved total mass and finite total energy lose the initial smoothness within a finite time. Further, we show that the same result holds for the solution to the Cauchy problem for the multidimensional compressible NavierStokes system. Moreover, for the ...
متن کاملConvergent finite element methods for compressible barotropic Stokes systems
We propose finite element methods for compressible barotropic Stokes systems. We state convergence results for these methods and outline their proofs. The principal tools of the proofs are higher integrability estimates for the discrete density, equations for the discrete effective viscous flux, and renormalized formulations of the numerical method for the density equation.
متن کاملVibrational characteristics of a spinning thermally affected cylindrical shell conveying viscous fluid flow carrying spring-mass systems
In this article, the vibrational behavior of a spinning cylindrical thick shell carrying spring- mass systems and conveying viscos fluid flow under various temperature distributions is investigated. This structure rotates about axial direction and the formulations include the coriolis and centrifugal effects. In addition, this system is conveying viscous fluid, and the related force is calculat...
