چکیده

In a network of thousands of nodes, usually densely deployed, it is unlikely that the designer will determine the position of each node. To process sensor data, however, it is necessary to know where the data come from. Equipping every node with a global positioning system (GPS) is currently a costly (in volume, money, and power consumption) solution. Instead, we can estimate node positions relying only on measurements of distances between nodes and other similar connectionimposed proximity constraints. In this model, only a few nodes (anchors) have known positions (perhaps equipped with GPS or placed deliberately) and positions of the remaining nodes are computed from knowledge about communication links. The distance information can be based on time-difference of arrival, received signal strength, and other criteria.

Optimizing the Event-based Method of Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks

A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless decentralized structure network consists of many nodes. Nodes can be fixed or mobile. WSN applications typically observe some physical phenomenon through sampling of the environment so determine the location of events is an important issue in WSN. Wireless Localization used to determine the position of nodes. The precise localization in WSNs is a co...

On improving APIT algorithm for better localization in WSN

In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), localization algorithms could be range-based or range-free. The Approximate Point in Triangle (APIT) is a range-free approach. We propose modification of the APIT algorithm and refer as modified-APIT. We select suitable triangles with appropriate distance between anchors to reduce PIT test errors (edge effect and non-uniform placement of neighbours) in APIT a...

An Experimental Evaluation of Position Estimation Methods for Person Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, the localization of persons by means of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is considered. Persons carry on-body sensor nodes and move within a WSN. The location of each person is calculated on this node and communicated through the network to a central data sink for visualization. Applications of such a system could be found in mass casualty events, firefighter scenarios, hospitals ...

Path Planning for Mobile Beacon Nodes in Localization for Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract A path planning for mobile beacon nodes is presented based on the node localization problem of WSN. The beacon nodes define the unknown node position by using ranging method of RSSI. By analyzing defects of a static trajectory, random trajectory, the beacon nodes move to the maximum coverage of unlocated nodes. The simulation result demonstrates that this algorithm obtains good localiz...
