چکیده

The existing waveguide interface standards are generally found to be unsatisfactory above 110 GHz. An improved interface is proposed which is backward-compatible with the MIL-DTL-3922/67C standard and most of its higher-frequency variants. As there are currently no standard waveguide bands above 325 GHz, an extended set of bands is recommended for operation to 1100 GHz. Index Terms — Waveguides, millimeter-wave waveguides, rectangular waveguides, submillimeter-wave waveguides, standards.

The Far-Infrared/Radio Correlation in Nearby Abell Clusters

A comprehensive study of the effect of the cluster environment on the far-infrared (FIR)/radio correlation in nearby Abell clusters is presented. Using the cluster radio galaxy database from Miller & Owen (2001a) and optical spectroscopy and high resolution radio images to remove AGN, we assess the FIR/radio correlation of cluster galaxies from the centers of the clusters out well past the clas...

The Rapidly Fading Afterglow from the Gamma - Ray Burst of 1999

We report on the discovery of the radio afterglow from the gamma-ray burst (GRB) of 1999 May 6 (GRB 990506) using the Very Large Array (VLA). The radio afterglow was detected at early times (∆t = 1.5 days), but began to fade rapidly sometime between 1 and 5 days after the burst. If we attribute the radio emission to the forward shock from an expanding fireball, then this rapid onset of the deca...

Mid - infrared Identification of 6 cm Radio Source Counterparts in the Extended Groth Strip

A new 6 cm survey of almost 0.6 deg to a limit of 0.55 mJy/beam (10σ) finds 37 isolated radio sources and 7 radio source pairs (not necessarily physical companions). IRAC counterparts are identified for at least 92% of the radio sources within the area of deep IRAC coverage, which includes 31 isolated sources and 6 pairs. This contrasts with an identification rate of <74% to R < 23.95 in visibl...
