Capillary filtration in the small intestine of the dog.

چکیده
The purpose of these studies was to determine the capillary filtration coefficient of the small intestine of anesthetized dogs by the gravimetric technique. Capillary filtration was produced by elevating venous pressure. Filtration rate increased as venous pressure was increased but the relation between the two was not proportional. At venous pressures greater than 10 mm Hg, filtration rate tended to reach a limit. As a consequence, the filtration coefficient decreased at higher pressures. Mean capillary pressure was estimated by the isogravimetric technique. When capillary pressure was 10 mm Hg, the filtration coefficient averaged 0.37 ml/min per 100 g and decreased to 0.11 when capillary pressure was elevated to 20 mm Hg. The reduction in filtration coefficient at high capillary pressures was apparently due to closure of precapillary sphincters. ADDITIONAL

Effect of Small Intestine Strangulation Obstruction on Clinical and Histopathological Parameters An Experimental Study in Donkeys
To study clinical and histopathological changes occur within the first 12 hours of strangulating obstruction of the small intestine in equine, twenty five adult donkeys were used in an experimental study. Strangulation obstruction of the small intestine was performed for 3, 6, 9 and 12 hours, respectively. Clinical examination was done before surgery and at 3 hours intervals postoperatively. Af...

The aim of the current study was to investigate the histological and histochemical characteristics of large and small intestines of sea snake, Hydrophis cyanocinctus. Six adult sea snakes were collected from Minab beaches, located near the sea of Oman, in November, euthanized with chloroform, dissected and alimentary canal removed, tissues preparaed for sectioning and staining with Hematoxylin ...
متن کاملEffect of Phenobarbital on Chloramphonicol-Induced Toxicity in Rat Liver and Small Intestine
Objective(s): The aim of the present study is to determine the effect of Chloramphenicol (CAP) on rat liver and small intestine. Effect of phenobarbital (PB) on CAP toxicity was also investigated. Materials and Methods: Rats were received CAP at doses of 0, 200, 400 and 600 mg/kg. Another group was pretreated with 80 mg/kg PB 30 min prior to administration of various doses...
متن کاملHistomorphometric changes of small intestine in pregnant rat
Food intake of rats increases during pregnancy. This requires changes in the structure of the small intestine to absorb additional food. The aim of the present study was to investigate the morphological changes in the layers of small intestine in rats during pregnancy. Duodenum, jejunum and ileum of 18 pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (day 7, 14 and 21 of pregnancy) were collected. Villous height a...
متن کاملDeterminants of glomerular filtration rate in the dog.
Micropuncture techniques were used to evaluate the determinants of glomerular filtration in hydropenic dogs. Stop-flow and servo-null techniques were used to estimate the glomerular capillary and proximal tubule hydrostatic pressures. The validity of stop-flow estimates was verified by comparisons with direct puncture of glomerular capillaries in Munich-Wistar rats. Efferent arteriolar oncotic ...
