چکیده

In recent years, signiÞ cant interest has been shown in the development of novel bioadhesive dosage forms for mucosal delivery of drugs that attempt to overcome these limitations1. A bioadhesive dosage form necessitates the use of mucoadhesive polymers to adhere to mucosa and withstand salivation, tongue movement and swallowing for signiÞ cant period of time2. High molecular weight polymers are generally used for bioadhesion. Hydrogen bonding due to hydrophilic groups such as -COOH or -OH plays an important role in bioadhesion3.

Formulation and Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Buccal Drug Delivery System of Metoprolol Tartrate by Using Central Composite Design

significant effect on bioadhesive strength and in vitro drug release. It was found that carbopol gives higher bioadhesive strength than HPC. Comparatively HPC controls the drug release greater than carbopol. The optimized formulation follows non-Fickian release mechanism. The FT-IR and DTA studies indicate no physico-chemical interaction. Stability studies revealed that optimized formulation wa...

بررسی تأثیر نوع و مقدار پلیمر بر قدرت مخاط چسبی و سرعت آزادسازی دارو از فیلم های مخاط چسب داخل گونه ای دیکلوفناک سدیم

Background and purpose: Buccal delivery of drug provides an attractive alternative to the oral route of drug administration and a convenient route of administration for both systemic and local drug delivery. Absorption of therapeutic agents from the oral cavity provides a direct entry for such agents into the systemic circulation, thereby avoiding first-pass metabolism and gastrointestinal d...
